A doubt about the rules.
Would it be acceptable? a tale, set in the same Resort already described by another author, but with different characters, dynamics, final outcome?

I wouldn't do this with a story by another Lit author without that author's permission.

I see no problem in taking the basic concept of the setting and renaming it and making it your own and writing your own story. But I wouldn't use another author's resort name and specific setting without their express permission.

Mmm, I'm no expert but I assume if it's a real place, no problem. If it's a fictional place, unless you have permission from the other author I'd write about the property next door.

I've submitted mine. Three read-throughs today, after having skipped a day between earlier editing sessions. I could have kept polishing and tweaking indefinitely, but such effort would surely have made no difference. 7.6k words, posted in SF&F. Now, it's time to move on.

I'm trying "Group" with one of mine. It's gay/lesbian/straight/bi, and I've usually put those in GM to be safest, but I thought I'd experiment with "Group" on this one. It will run to about 12 pages. Asheville and Thailand.

I finished a really rough draft with 8k words last night. The first half may be close, but the second has lots of holes to fill, in addition to a great deal of editing and polishing throughout. I’m guessing 15k or so words when finally complete with it being filed in Romance.

At least I have something to distract me while I sweat through the contest: The next thing to write. I've seen a few fantasy pieces here about writers of erotica, so I've decided to do one of my own, and take it way over the top. So far there's more than 12k words in the file, about 5k nonstop from the start and the rest unattached vignettes. For my set of interests, it's reeeeaaally strokey, which is why I'm writing it. I have no idea if it will actually be submittable. It can only go in Humor and Satire.

I had one but I am hearing that most of the world doesn't associate Bible camp with summer.

It is mostly about talking deer quoting the Bible- telling kids about the dangers of unhealthy eating or sex outside of marriage before prophesize the end of the world so I can't really change it from Bible camp to summer camp.

I guess this will be another low rated one with a bunch of comments like "What the hell did I just read?" or "I wanted a sex story, not whatever this is."
