They do offer and help with some, but it’s never everything, right? I really don’t want them loading my dishwasher a second time, closing up the gazebo, etc. I want them to relax and enjoy themselves. I’m mostly complaining in jest.


Thankfully the mini-humans are incredibly well behaved and thoughtful. They probably help as much or more than they make a mess.

Some will help a little with cleanup. I'm still usually left with a mess and I feel compelled to have at least have the kitchen cleaned.

As for the minis...no they should not be allowed to run roughshod over my house. Just because you walk through my door, it doesn't mean your parenting responsibilities stop. So I have no problem disciplining in front of the parents.

If my girls had ever acted like that when visiting, they wouldn't have seen the outside of their rooms in a while.

Uhh I have 12 uncles and aunties, 7 on maternal side and 5 on paternal side... each one had a minimum of 2 kids and although one uncle had furbabies, another uncle made up for it by having 2 families with 4 kids each (that he declared )

Destroy my family room. Board games strewn everywhere. Food brought to area of the house where kids should not be bring food. Pulling all the paper from my printer to scribble in.

All while their parents sit upstairs chatting away like they didn't bring anyone with them.
