It sounds like he deserved it. I’m similar in that it is almost impossible to rattle me or provoke an emotional reaction at work, but you do not want to be on the receiving end if you cause that once in a decade occurrence. Treating other people poorly, especially those on my teams, would definitely be a trigger for me too.

I have a lot of staff that speak very little English (they are way better at it now because I work with them on it.) He was very very critical on them would call them names they didn't understand and be all around nasty asf. I heard it once to often and marched into the kitchen told him to get his stuff and fuck off, escaladed very fast after that.

Abusing people with less of a voice or power is one of the fastest ways to enrage me. I’m glad you stood up to him because a lot of people are afraid to get involved so it just continues.
