Both are used, but 24h is official. If you say the meeting will be at 1 o'clock, people will naturally assume it is pm. We don't have a nice little abbreviation for am/pm.@Strixaluco I have a random question for you, since you're the only non-Brit European here... do you generally use a 24 hour clock when giving times? For example, if you were telling someone when you are available for an appointment, would you say at 13:00 or 1 pm?

Sorry, that was incorrect. In Finnish it actually is easy enough to abbreviate them, just isn't used in the same way. And can't remember seeing it done in Swedish.

They don't need to - each hour has its own number. 1-12 then 13-24/0
