I hear you. 17 years of it for me was with a company with offices around the globe. So calls all times of the night

The one time I didn't have to carry a laptop on vacation was when I went to Ireland. And that was because I would have had to go through all the company's import/export compliance due to government contracts.

The problem with French society at that time was the huge gap between the rich and poor that the shrinking middle class left. Here in the US, there's government assistance that was NOT available via the French monarchy and the middle class is healthy. I'd say countries like India and Pakistan would have revolutions before we would. I've never seen a slum in the US like I have over there.

LOL, how did you know I was thinking "first world problems?" My sister-in-law would KILL to have a 40 hr week job that has sick pay and earns $7/hr. The highest she can go is secretary in a corporation thanks to their backwards societal issues.
