johnny weissmuller never did it for me. i liked herman brix/bruce bennett. i wanted to run away to africa as a child to look for him. ron ely was good too, great body but no personality and he had some little sidekick that i wanted to strangle. can you still do the tarzan yell?

It's 2021, Tarzan is a racist holdover from the days when it was
normative to have a white hero defending the hapless natives...

you don't do 'woke' very well at all, babe. especially when everyone already knows that you hate all minorities but black people in particular.

in one of the 'golden age of hollywood' gossip books w. s. van dyke, the director of 'tarzan the ape man' talks about johnny weissmuller and complains that he couldn't keep his hands out of his loincloth. he said he didn't know if he had crabs or if he was constantly adjusting his foreskin but every time they'd do a shot he'd be rooting around in his crotch.

According to personal gossip, Johnny had a thing for cheeta. The original cheeta "actress" was a female chimp and happened to be in heat during the filming of certain portions of Weissmuller's films.

I recall seeing old movies with Gordon Scott and he inspiring me to send off for the Charles Atlas course and build an equally huge chest!

Johnny had a thing for the bottle... Buster Crabbe was good in the films he played in, but Jock Mahoney did a couple of good films as Tarzan in the sixties and probably should have been picked up for a new film franchise. Ron Ely was too one dimensional.
