I amazed that most consider me so strong and having such a powerful sense of self worth. I’m I actually kind of scared to do things and try to break out of that fearful shell daily with small challenges daily or weekly.

I was on vacation with my then-wife about 30 years ago and we went to a public swimming pool. I didn't have swim trunks, but we both thought it'd be OK if I just went in my short pants. They had a high dive that nobody was using, so I decided to try it myself. I'd just jump at first, then I'd do a flip, etc. Each time, I noticed I was being watched by more and more people. Since nobody else was using the high dive, I just assumed they were curious about my using it.

Then I started getting a few claps of appreciation. Very heady stuff, I tell you. When I was done I went over to my wife and asked if she'd watched - and had she heard the applause I was getting?

Her answer: Yes, I did. They all noticed that your white shorts turn transparent when they are wet.

I had surgery to correct it , robbing me of my depth perception.

Me too. Badly. Three surgeries before I was two years old. Had to wear eye patches on alternating eyes as well. Another surgery when I was 12.
In addition to not fabulous depth perception, I also have negligible binocular vision. So, no 3D glasses for me. And my right eye is dominant, so the left eye likes to wander off to the side. So much fun.

Me too. Badly. Three surgeries before I was two years old. Had to wear eye patches on alternating eyes as well. Another surgery when I was 12.
In addition to not fabulous depth perception, I also have negligible binocular vision. So, no 3D glasses for me. And my right eye is dominant, so the left eye likes to wander off to the side. So much fun.

That makes 3 of us. I still have monocular vision after 3 operations
