With the onset of summer, and warmer weather (in the northern hemisphere at least) the topic of outdoor sex arises, perhaps echoed in the National Nude Day contest. I ran across this passage in the novel 'Mating.' Female protagonist, male author, setting southern Africa:
‘The idea of making love al fresco was suddenly to be discussed … but it was my duty to point out that outdoor love was not a good idea. ... Pastoral sex is exclusively a male penchant. I guarantee no woman ever proposes it if there are quarters available.’
What do you think of this? Outdoors certainly has fantasy elements, with heightened excitement for a variety of factors, and depending on circumstances sometimes remains the only option. Does this perspective resonate?
