As this article points out, it is a toothless Amendment and easy to regulate it.

It's even written into the language of the 2Amendment..."a well-regulated militia..."

The source of the problem starts with the REPUBLICAN willingness to accept massive gun violence and mass shootings as a part of their right to "individual liberty" to have guns.

That right is an infringement on the common good and common right of our collective safety and we'll being...the right to life, liberty as a societal right.

Times up Repubs!

We can do better than that...it is time to do away with Republicans period. We need to start the process of breaking up the country. Let them live their life the way they want and let is live ours the way we want. Win-win. Everyone is happy.

That must be why for the last half century + the (D)'s have had such a mother fucker of a time regulating it out of existence. :D

Any case can be made when you pull things out of context.

The source of the problem starts with the REPUBLICAN willingness to accept massive gun violence and mass shootings as a part of their right to "individual liberty" to have guns.

It's not part of the right and has nothing to do with it.

That right is an infringement on the common good and common right of our collective safety and we'll being...the right to life, liberty as a societal right.

No, it's not.

Times up Repubs!

No, it's not. You don't have anywhere near the democratic juice to do much of anything right now and you're not getting the SCOTUS to pretend otherwise anytime soon either.

That used to be the whole reason we have states and states rights. :) Decentralization, you do you in your state and we'll do us in ours, live and let live, good fences make good neighbors and all that.

I mean you realize you can do damn near all the "progress" you want in CA, NY, OR, WA, NJ and others right? Straight up Venezuela those mother fuckers...

Ya'll just won't do it. PUSS PUSS (D)eez....no belief in their own bullshit.

You know if you do, you'll just empty your state out and be be left holding the tab.

That's why y'all gotta force all this "progress" federally. Limit peoples option to just leave.....because if they can? They will. ;)

It isn't accurate to categorize it as "the Republican's interpretation". The Supreme Court has ruled on it. It's easy to blame these horrors on an inanimate object. It's harder to acknowledge that the undeniably true cause is reflected in the mirror. We have become a sick society with unhappy people. The direction our country is taking is clearly negative. People are not happy. Half the country hates the other half. You yourself are guilty of that.

Facts don't matter to Democrats.

Remember, these are the people who think banning pistol grips and adjustable stocks is going to stop gun violence.

LOL

They aren't exactly well informed on the subject nor do they posses any motivation or ability to become educated.

Lol...yup! Gonna be fun.

Gun clutching at it best!

Clutching their pearls in one hand and the grip of their "pistol" with the other.

No, Cornus - that is you. Your masculinity is only defined by your gun ownership. For everything else, you're a poor example of a human being.

Sorry, Cornus, I'm a legal gun-owning UK rightist. You are full of shit again.

I don't understand why people say this. It doesn't make any sense at all. In reality, this sentiment and statement says more about you than it does about whomever you're referring to. It reveals that YOU somehow equate firearm ownership with some warped concept of "masculinity". I know many women who are gun owners, too. I wonder what weird scenarios you conger up in your warped view of reality. Penis envy, or some other sick shit?

Hates inequity, supportrs leftist and lefties causes.....claims to be a rightist.

LOL

Fetishizing gunz is a fantasy anti-gun people have about pro-gun ownership people....little more than ascription and ad hom.

The Second Amendment is fine. The issue is the ridiculous decision made in Heller.

In 1939 the U.S. Supreme Court considered the matter in United States v. Miller. 307 U.S. 174. The Court adopted a collective rights approach in this case, determining that Congress could regulate a sawed-off shotgun that had moved in interstate commerce under the National Firearms Act of 1934 because the evidence did not suggest that the shotgun "has some reasonable relationship to the preservation or efficiency of a well regulated milita . . . ." The Court then explained that the Framers included the Second Amendment to ensure the effectiveness of the military.

This precedent stood for nearly 70 years when in 2008 the U.S. Supreme Court revisited the issue in the case of District of Columbia v. Heller (07-290). The plaintiff in Heller challenged the constitutionality of the Washington D.C. handgun ban, a statute that had stood for 32 years. Many considered the statute the most stringent in the nation. In a 5-4 decision, the Court, meticulously detailing the history and tradition of the Second Amendment at the time of the Constitutional Convention, proclaimed that the Second Amendment established an individual right for U.S. citizens to possess firearms and struck down the D.C. handgun ban as violative of that right. The majority carved out Miller as an exception to the general rule that Americans may possess firearms, claiming that law-abiding citizens cannot use sawed-off shotguns for any law-abiding purpose. Similarly, the Court in its dicta found regulations of similar weaponry that cannot be used for law-abiding purposes as laws that would not implicate the Second Amendment. Further, the Court suggested that the United States Constitution would not disallow regulations prohibiting criminals and the mentally ill from firearm possession. LLI

If this is the case, what is the "law-abiding purpose" of an AR 15? of a Ruger-AR-556?

Same as any other semi-auto rifle.

Sport shooting, varmint hunting, plinking, self defense.

Just because you think it's scary looking and want to ban some accessories doesn't mean it can't have a legal purpose.

These facts are why you stay hidden in your iggy bunker. :D

Apart from Grizzles, that most Americans will never see, how often do you have to shoot game?

It would be a pain to extract thirty bullets from a deer. Or are all Americans such poor shots that they can't hit anything with the first twenty-nine?

In Germany, hunting clubs all use one weapon - a bolt-operated Mauser. They rarely fire more than a single shot.

"have to" isn't relevant.

I do it because I want to.

And only a moron would go at a fuckin' grizz with a pea shooter like an AR-15.

What kinda random shit is this?

Why would you shoot a deer 30 times??

Capacity = sustainability. Has nothing to do with how good of a shot you are, and even the best shots miss.

Good for Germany.

In the USA we mow down hogs from helicopters with fuckin' full auto machine guns. :D

Way more fun.

This kind of stupid statement and ignorance of firearms is typical and spewed by some of our most vocal national politicians, and the self proclaimed woke Lit loudmouths. Some are quite funny to read and hear.

Ogg, you should stick to writing proper English porn stories.
