So as many of you know, I went in for a colonoscopy due to some bleeding issues. They found four polyps, three were removed right then, but the fourth was a five centimeter mass that turned out to be cancer.
It's stage three, and before they will remove it, I'll be having radiation and chemo therapies at the same time, starting next week. It's five days a week for twenty-five visits, so five weeks. After that I get a recovery break, and then if things have gone well, what's left of it will be removed.
Most people don't go through this, but I always have to do it over the top, lol. This tumor is right where the rectum and the colon meet, so they need to save as much of the rectum as possible.
I'd guess this is an uncomfortable topic or subject for some, so I understand if you'd rather ignore me/it
I will be sharing everything I deal with along the way, in the hopes that maybe just one of you that has put off a colonoscopy, goes and gets it done.
And just so everyone knows, this is not a pity party for me. I don't need any of that, because I'm not at risk of dying or anything like that, it will just be uncomfortable for a while. I do love and appreciate all the PMs with prayers and encouragement, and willingly accept more, because it's nice to know people care.
I will answer any and all questions about what I'm going through, and what I've learned, either here, or in a PM. I don't mind.
