Category: Humor and Satire, probably
The idea came to me when reading a how-to on Lit. It went like "It's all put thing A into slot B in the end." Which makes me think of putting together a futon, table, couch, rocking couch. Also, there are some erotic serenade poems on here where, plot twist! he was talking about his motorcycle. Also, it is often said that the build up is better than the climax in a story.
So I'm thinking, hammers and screws, concentration, grabbing and pulling, grunting, sweat poring down face. Perhaps the main character likes the smell and curves of the wood. And for the satirical angle, one of the items is called a DD or something.
This would probably be from first person. But I also like the idea of the second person, "you", being the furniture. Good plot twist would be that the builder was a woman the whole time, perhaps her name is Sam, and she makes out with her boyfriend on top of it once it's constructed.
