So we’re pretty much there . . .

The space age! Where you can put on your tesla suit (with haptic feedback), your VR headset and then interact with someone in a sexual way (talk about multiplayer!). Both players would have the ability to touch, rub and pleasure each other any way they wanted. Imagine the possibility of attachable accessories ;)

But this raises some issues:

Imagine a site like Lit, but with the ability to “interact” with each other in the most intimate way. Our AVs would be 3D and very interactive.
Would you do it?
Would this be considered cheating on your spouse?
How would it be different than interacting with words and then finishing yourself off with a vibrator, hand or whatever?
Would this just be a really technologically advanced version of a blowup doll?
What effect would this have on future relationships?
Imagine walking through the grocery store realizing that just about anyone in there could be the person you had cybersex with last night.

What are your thoughts?

Just make sure you lock the door before using it. You definitely don’t want someone to walk in on you doing this!

I’m no stock broker, but I bet teledildonics would be a wise investment ;)

(Shameless bump)

That is about the most unerotic thing I have ever seen. Oh, and only in Japan

OK HW, I thought about this and here's my best response to your suppositions.:)

As I understand it viewable VR is more of a higher technology audiovisual experience where any tactile sensations such as touch and smell are artificial constructs. So, while it might more readily help with sexual stimulation it’s still not the real thing.

As to the infidelity, words, desensitizing, sex doll, relationships and surprise encounters with online playmates questions. Well, IMHO it’s immoral but not adulterous, I do believe it will jade you, sex dolls are just an expensive nonresponsive masturbation tool, in my opinion, I do believe it will marginalize relationships and accidentally meeting an online playmate has adverse risks that would concern me.

So, overall, I see all of this as a rabbit hole that might be best avoided as it will likely have more of a negative effect on someone with RL partners.

And for those TLDR types... well...carry on....:D

Interactive VR with other people? Wouldn't do it unless the wife was on board as well. I love flirting and bullshitting with all of you, but I draw the line just shy of Skyping with anyone from here. Too much potential for attachment that would compromise my marriage. We're not even strictly monogamous, but like most others who are open to consensual non monogamy; everything is founded on unwavering trust and sharing.

If I were not married? Fuck yeah! Sounds like a lot of good, safe fun.

It is completely off point, but it made me laugh so I posted it :D

I assume it would have negative effects on a relationship too and it could also have negative effects on a single person--too easy to log in and virtually interact with another person without any of the usual relationship building--kind of like Lit! :D

But, if you start to connect that technology with a real person, that’s where I think the lines are blurred. There are more than just physical sensations. You know that person. You might think about that person long after the VR equipment was put away. I think a spouse might have more of an issue if it crossed from fantasy to reality. It depends on the couple and their comfort level. One couple might think it’s no big deal, and another may see it as infidelity.

Would I do it? This doesn’t really appeal to me.

This is what I was going for. I wonder if a spouse would have a different reaction finding out about interacting on Lit, than they would knowing that a full body suit was manipulating you and being controlled by a real person that you were mingling with in a virtual world. That feels a lot different to me.
Like you said, once the "real" person becomes involved it changes. And yet, we, on Lit, are real people--so why is it different?

Interesting quandary.

It could be a new way of spicing things up. You come home and she left you a note telling you she is in the virtual club, she's using a fun avatar--see if you can find her.
