My words to you, WH, are, "you are correct. You aren't old unless you want to be old." Chronologically I am 81 and 2 months, mentally I am somewhere in my 20's. I workout regularly, I travel, I like to eat out with a woman, I want to see what is on the other side of the mountain, I am as curious as a 5 year old, I like to learn about other people, I like computers, I like hanging out with young people. By now you get the picture. I am not one of those doddering oldsters with drool on his chin pushing a walker and complaining about his aches and pains. Being 54 chronologically doesn't define you, your activities define you.

I'm fucking glad I'm not in my twenties anymore, but i don't feel old the way i thought 53 was old when i was younger. My friends are all 'my age,' no matter how old they are, and none of us are old.
