Serious news is a couple hours old now and no thread before this one? Huh. All the partisans must be bug-eyed on the TV, furiously trying to swallow all the talking points their respective partisan sides are still in the process of spinning up.

Personally, I've never been able to stomach a full Rachael Maddow show - until tonight, that is, and boy was it a blast! The news basically broke right before her show and she had no choice but to report what she intuitively understands is some serious shit. Good for her to have as her first guest one of TNYT reporters responsible for the story. Doubly good because without spinning not yet in her mind, and having such a difficult time just accepting the serious gravity of the reporter's words, all she could possibly do was just suck all the truth in without plainly gagging on it. Great times!

But, of course, the spin eventually began with it basically becoming exactly what her partisan opposites charged from the beginning of Spygate: that the Justice Department is now politically weaponized and is simply doing the partisan wishes of the current administration. The repugnant shoe's now on the other foot and they can't even come up with different spin? HA!

Evidently, fruits of the soon-to-be-released Horowitz report, covering his own administrative investigation, are what's turned the Durham effort into, now, a full-blown criminal investigation.

God! I love America! There's not a more entertaining partisan political shitshow anywhere on earth.

The New York Times reported Thursday that U.S. Attorney John Durham's criminal review has prompted some CIA officials to obtain criminal legal counsel in anticipation of being interviewed.

A Fox News story mentions Brennan and Clapper several times, but at this point that means nothing. All of this will become clear in a few days or weeks.

There were also predictions that many prominent Democrats will claim the news is meant to distract the public from the serious business of trying to drum up interest in impeaching the president.

The opposite is true. The impeachment effort, possibly engineered by or at least for Clapper and Brennan, but definitely cheered by them, was them getting the phony impeachment effort out un front of the IG report so they could claim the long underway IG investigation was the distraction, rather than the reverse.

Durham is a whole different ball game. Apparently he's scarfed up some cell phones of a few of those that were trying to hide in the shadows. Individuals in the intelligence community. Some of that information is apparently part of a criminal case already. Flynn's new attack dog attorney, Sidney Powell, has asked the court to provide her information on those phones as exculpatory evidence re. Gen. Flynn.

The democrats knew this was coming so the impeachment circus was, as Con mentioned, an attempt to 'get in front' of the issue. Expect cries of "Banana Republic" and "Political Lynching" (it will be ironic hearing it from them, won't it?) as this snowball gathers speed and mass.

Lynch and Comey have already contradicted each other so one or both of them are in jeopardy as well.

There's a whole group of "Deep Stater's" who are caught up in a "Prisoner's Dilemma." Who's going to be the first to play "Let's Make a Deal?"

I think @Comey @JohnBrennan @petestrzok et al should welcome the opportunity to be vindicated by a criminal investigation. They did nothing wrong so why should they mind? Plus, defendants in the US have great rights and the courts can block any DOJ potential abuses. All good.
