Cilantro does not taste like soap it tastes delicious
It usually tastes great to me but I grow it and one year, it went to seed. That stuff did taste of soap.

Peanut butter? Really?? Crunchy peanut butter I don’t like. I’ve found off brand works best for cookie baking.
I hate the terms “nut butter” and “bone broth.” Quit trying to be fancy! Lol
I love peanuts to such an extent that adding buttery feel to it kills my mood . Haha.
And I hardly use butter to cook. Not that I do much cooking.
Yeah I have no idea what is a 'bone broth' except for fancy alliteration. Haha. I can see how one would dislike the terms .
It's a genetic thing. "For those cilantro-haters for whom the plant tastes like soap, the issue is genetic. These people have a variation in a group of olfactory-receptor genes that allows them to strongly perceive the soapy-flavored aldehydes in cilantro leaves."
Which is a shame, because for those of us without that sensitivity, cilantro, or as we call it here in the UK, coriander, is wonderful, fresh tasting, a lovely green hit in a salad or curry.
It's the same with whether you perceive that asparagus makes your wee smell funny. Some people just can't smell it, or don't produce the smell, or something. I love asparagus, but the after effects are disconcerting, to say the least.
In other news (sorry, this is really long!) I also love, love, love yoghurt, especially Greek yoghurt, and I adore to pull meat off a bone with my teeth.
I'll get my coat....![]()
Mango - I mean, it’s everywhere, it’s a fruit, and most people seem to love it. I just...don’t!
I used to know a woman that hated butter.
Huh. You strike me as someone who would be a gourmet cook!
I really dislike cheese, which apparently makes me super weird. To me its just congealed chunks of sour milk. No, thank you.
I also used to live in the part of NJ where Bruce Springsteen is from, and *everybody* loved him and his music. I get the appeal, but was never really a fan, which is fightin' words to some people. Since I moved away from that corner of NJ it's become much less of a problem.
I don't like those or papayas. I actually don't like most fruit.
When you make hash browns at home, do you follow a recipe? Do you dry the shredded potatoes with a paper towel before frying them? Don't give up. Experiment a little after you are able to make them crispy. Add some diced onions or garlic. Is there something that you think you should or would like? But after you've tried it, you realize you don't. Could be anything. Not just sex.
One thing for me is hash browns. Especially when they boast of being extra crispy. I love potatoes and I love (but only some) French fries. Hash browns always look wonderful in the picture. But when I get them at a restaurant or even try to make them at home, they always disappoint.
They're never crispy but sometimes the very outside is so hard and tough that I can't cut through them. They usually are not hot when I get them and most of the time they are just greasy and anemic. Ick.

Cake - I don't like the spongy texture. Same for donuts and pancakes. Most things for me involve texture turnoff rather than taste turnoff. Regular yogurt is another, though I do love Greek style. Ripe banana- needs a hint or more of green. Lima and large kidney beans, though every other bean is perfectly fine.
Ugh, hashbrowns are the worst way to eat potato.
Homefries are far superior.
Watermelon. But then I’m allergic to watermelon.
