I have to admit don’t totally understand what the sub gets from this . I have just wondered about this . I see the vids and read the stories about shock to nipples etc what does the sub receive from it. Myself being a more dominant person care understand the control part. Hope people share with me about this , guess I will soon see.

Electric shock and e-stim are generally used in different ways, although they obviously share the source of power. A Dom(me) may use a violet wand or similar to create a shock at various sensitive points on the subs body, and this at best energizes and stimulates and at worst causes pain. if you want to know why subs embrace pain, then that is a whole bigger question, but there's definitely a thread on it here.

E-Stim is sometimes used on subs but more often used in a solo capacity to stimulate, and can be very pleasurable if used in the right way.

Shocks tend to be short and sharp; e-stim tends to be a constant or patterned throb.

Hope that helps.

Yes this does help now need to get the view of the sub . Is it the stim or the shocking/pain they crave. Again thanks

Seems an average hit rate in comparison to the other threads. There are other threads on both these practices (stories too) but I would hazard a guess that neither would be listed in the most popular kinks on Lit.

In addition, your response to my answer seemed to be more of a rhetoric question, so maybe if you're looking for more information you could be clearer on what you're after.

Have patience, and search previous threads and stories. It's a friendly community, but please bear in mind that people are not obliged to share their knowledge and experience.

DVS is knowledgeable when it comes to electro play. He's started this thread about it. Maybe it will answer some of your questions. Electroplay-questions and answers

Like HXB said, it's not the most popular kink, so it is more difficult to get answers on this topic than about, say, spanking. Not a lot of people have a ton of experience on this particular kink.

As to your second question, it's really impossible for anybody to give you an answer if subs crave stim or shock from electro play. The answer and the reasons for the preference vary from person to person.

Electrical play is just another form of sensation. I mean someone might wonder why a person wants their nipples clamped, why someone might crave enema play or enjoys being cropped or caned.

The e-stim is a nice feeling at a certain level. I've ad a tens unit placed on different spots to varying degrees of arousal. It feels like a littlhe massage if used on a lower level. Maybe similar to a hitachi - except e-stim is more pulsating and that evil hitachi is just one speed.

Electrical play is a much different sensation. I like it because it's... shocking!? (Lame??) I can't say why I like it but I do. I hate being tickled or bit. But I do like the sharp intensity of a wand. I've had sounds used (during urethra play) with electrical stimulation and that was intense.

I answered above but I don't crave electrical stuff. It was just another fun thing to try. I'd do it again, but it's not something I dream about or want all the time.

It wasn't crazy painful. It was more a surprising, overstimulating sensation.

Everyone is different, e-stem is more like a pulsing massage where a shock is just that.
The shock is sudden there for only milla seconds where the e-stem can last for minutes depending on the setting of pulsing.
What does it provide, awareness.

Yeah same, like... it doesn't hurt like... at all? You can turn that shit all the way up for me and I'm getting a massage. E-stem feels REALLY good.

I need a dom because I won't take it off if there isn't someone watching me. I'll just live like that, hooked up to the TENS or whatever it's called, at full power.

Also if you're a guy they won't like... let you put it on your dick/balls at the doctor's.

The issue is that it's dangerous but it doesn't FEEL dangerous. It feels really good so you can straight up do damage if there's not someone watching you. Because it's really hard to know how to stop when something feels that good.

In an ideal world I'd have one of those shocky tables that they use at chiropractors. They're prohibitively expensive but I actually have an appointment today. God I love the shocky table.

It's not even just a sex thing, I won't take that shit off my back either. It says on it not to go longer than half an hour but I have no self control so even for actual medical reasons I really need someone watching me.

Also they make shocky urethra stretchers that you can actually put inside your dick and it's just fun to watch. Like not only does it feel amazing, but your dick vibrates and jumps and it's like... middle school funny.

So yeah, I'm a huge fan.

If you really have a high pain threshold to electrical stimulation, I'd suggest you get a stop watch or maybe an egg timer to have set, so you can know when too long is too long.

The idea behind too much electrical stimulation is how it affects the body. As long as you have sufficient moisture in the area being stimulated, you will probably be OK, even though you can also develop a kind of tolerance to the stimulation, if you always place it in the same place.

But, after a while, the electrical current will remove any moisture from the area and from that point on, you are really cooking the tissue that has any current passing through it. You might not feel it, but after a while, you will notice either a discoloration in the area, or a different feel to the skin...kind of leathery, for the lack of a better name.

While the human body can repair itself quite a bit of the time, this will also give you less feeling down the road, because it's an overstimulation of the current and that tolerance can develop.

If you are one that really enjoys this sort of thing a lot, it would be best for you to space the sessions out more, so your body can have a time to recover. Think of it like someone taking a break from masturbation, so after the break there will be an explosive orgasm. A similar situation would result with this, I'm pretty sure.

It's just a case of liking something too much. While it doesn't seem to have bothered you that much, I think you would enjoy it more, if you did space things out more. Of course, this is up to you and I'm only making a suggestion. But there is such a thing as to much of a good thing and if you can limit your sessions somewhat, I think you'll enjoy the result a lot more.

I think part of the enjoyment is the fact that it's electricity. Just knowing what it is causing that feeling can take your thoughts to a dungeon where some evil doctor has you sufficiently tied down and making your body jerk and thrash around, all the while he's laughing at your anguish.

Of course, I'm going beyond what should really happen, but the subconscious mind can often take you places that your desires want to go. It's all part of being a sub or a dom. We enjoy these roles because of the feelings we get from them.

And just like some enjoy nipple clamps or enemas, some enjoy electrical stimulation. And some like those clamps to be electrical and even the enema to have some current going through it. We are all a various group of kinky people. That's what BDSM is...a varied area of what some will call unusual desires of the sexual mind.

Of course, we don't consider ourselves unusual, but the vanilla world has a different opinion. But, we know that the vanilla world doesn't have as much fun as we do, either.

Oh, yeah, I actually am already doing that. And the machines actually have timers on them, as like a legal thing, so you don't need an egg timer or anything. A LOT of people do what I do so they go off automatically because that's a lawsuit waiting to happen. I never, ever use it without someone watching me and making sure I don't cook myself. I know I'm a grown-ass adult who should be able to set a timer, but I just... am not. Like we had to decide I couldn't be trusted. Because I'll hear the timer go off and get up and set it for five more minutes because "5 minutes can't possibly hurt anything". And then another 5, on that same logic. And then another.

So basically I need to be watched.

Also, to be fair to me, I have an anxiety disorder that makes my muscles lock up, so the reason that I have a tens is not because I wanted to put it on my dick. Like I do actually need it.

It's just that, lets be real, I'm me so if something feels that good I am eventually gonna hook it to my junk.

It's really shocking me that people think estem can hurt. I've never had a sensation anywhere close to pain, and all the doctors (because again, at first this was a medical thing for me) talk about not leaving it on too long. Like no one has ever acted as if there was some reluctance to use it from anyone. The issue is using it too much. There's no pain involved. It's not that I have a high pain threshold, it's that the sensation of being electrocuted isn't painful. Like it's just a happy fun tingling sensation. There's no pain.

But, like you said, tissue damage is a thing. A big problem (and something my dumb ass has done before) is that it feels so good people will fall asleep with them on. Like not just me, the doctors and physical therapists and everyone will tell you that is a possibility and you need to not do it. If you're lying down, set the timer on the machine so it'll go off.

So now I just don't use it unless someone is watching me. Not for sexy fun times or even 'fixing my muscles' medical reasons. Because you guys if you haven't tried it you really don't know how good it feels or how hard it is to stop. Once you find yourself hitting that timer- or even worse, setting the automatic timer on the machine, having it go off, and then turning it back on- that's the sign that you need a good dom to watch you because you cannot be trusted on your own.

NEVER use estem on nipple clamps. Having a current move across your chest can fuck up your heart. I had to learn that.

You can do it with a double TENS unit, because it has double leads and each set of leads is within the single wire. So, when you connect a clip to a nipple, the current only travels a very short distance from one side of the clip to the other side. Basically, it's just going through the nipple and nothing else.

I'd still advise novices to never go above the waist with any electrical device. Even a double TENS can malfunction and that's not a good thing. And when one of these things malfunctions, it's not like you can see the electricity flowing in the wrong direction.

You can't see electricity. So, knowing when things are going wrong is part of the necessary knowledge of someone messing with an electrical gizmo.

My boyfriend is gonna be really mad that you told me this. I stopped listening at, "Ok but technically you CAN".

Your boyfriend is very correct about nipple play, when talking about a single pole TENS unit. With one of those, there is only one set of leads and the current will travel from the clip on one nipple, through the chest wall, to the clip on the other nipple.

That is very unsafe, as it can damage your heart. There is a part of the heart that controls its beating by a small electrical impulse. The worst thing you'd want to do would be to damage that electrical impulse, let alone, damage any of the muscle itself.

But, the more expensive double pole TENS units are really two single pole TENS units in one box. There are also two sets of leads and each set is within a single wire. You can set it up so that when one clip is on a nipple, that clip has both leads attached to it. The current only travels a very small distance from one side of the clip to the other.

Another advantage of a double TENS unit is how it can modulate the current. You can have one set of leads connected to a part of your body in one way and another set connected in another way. Since each set of leads are independent of the other, you can set the wave on one to something like a triangle wave or square wave and then set the second set to another kind of wave. With different adjustments, you can have the two waves modulate between each other, giving you sensations of waves of highs and lows and various feelings between the two sets of leads.

I'm not sure if you can do this with nipples, as they are such small points of connections. But, there are toys made specifically for the double TENS unit where you can have one dildo in your pussy and one in your ass and have the waves modulate each other. Or use the patches and put one set of leads on one cheek of your ass and the other set on the other cheek. Or one set on your ass and the other set on your pussy or clit area. The sensations can be quite interesting, with a few adjustments of the dials.

I'd still suggest keeping any electrical device below the waist as it's so much safer. There are so many things that can go wrong, when we have our sexual urges on our mind and not really thinking of safety. I think you should listen to your boyfriend. :D

I have used E Stim on a guy with one terminal connected to an urethral sound the other inserted in the anus. This was a guy who regularly rakes a sjambok beating without turning a hair. I went downstairs to make coffee and couldn't resist a few dabs on the blipper and I could hear his cries of protest clearly. I guess that some people just don't handle electricity well.

Many years ago a lady of my acquaintance used a cattle prod on my balls. I would rate that as one of the worst experiences of my life. Electricity for me equals fear..and yet I suppose I can sort of see the attraction as a sub.

It all depends on your approach to electricity. Of course, the way you were approached with it, fear would be how I felt about it, too. Everything is how you were first introduced to it...even something that's enjoyable. If you are zapped with electricity any time you climax, you might not enjoy it, in the future, because it brings back the memory of being zapped.

I wouldn't suggest leaving your guy alone like that, even though you were within ear shot of his protests. Never be away from a victim tied up and attached to an electrical device, when it's turned on.

Even if it's thought to be impossible, there's always that slim chance it can malfunction. And if your victim isn't able to turn it off, that leaves only you. I know you didn't think anything was going to happen and I'd guess nothing did happen.

His protests could have been triggered by not knowing where you went or how long you were going to be gone. That's a mental kind of torment that works quite well, but it should be used sparingly. I'd just suggest not doing that, even though you didn't mean any harm (so to speak).

The most I would ever do would be to say I'm leaving for a while, but I wouldn't leave the room...maybe just go behind someone, out of their eyesight. Opening and closing a door would be a good addition, letting them think you really left. Then, you could watch them in their panic.

But, even that panic should be short lived. It's like tickling someone while they are bound. You know when it's going to stop, but they don't. That power is very strong, but you should always understand that power has a mental attachment to it, for the victim. Don't abuse it.

The sub receives sensation. It can be pleasant, or torturous depending on the setting. It can even cause orgasm if applied correctly. Or it can be used as punishment, or torture play - and people like that too.
It's not for everyone, but then nothing is for everyone. Some love it, some hate it.
It's really hard to describe it though. It has a quality unlike anything else. You'll have to try it to understand.

Do I need to say anything else?:cattail:

The partner and I spent the day at an event with several classes. We actually went to support a friend who was sitting on a panel, but decided to sit through the electroplay class. I admit it was not something I had an interest in, but I am willing to try most things at least once.

The presenter had a violet wand and an e-stim, giving a demonstration of both with the person bottoming for him explaining the different sensations. After, he asked if anyone wanted to see what they felt like and not being shy I volunteered. I REALLY enjoyed them both, but the e-stim sensation is what I remember the most. I wouldn't call it painful really, but I also find myself getting into a trance-like state when I get tattoos so I may just be a weirdo.

Anyway, I'm sold.

Electroplay doesn't have to be painful. It's just that most doms and subs who play with this type of thing prefers some pain in their sessions. All electrical toys have adjustments to set the sensation higher or lower.

Now, the violet wand is a bit different as there is a kind of threshold it needs to reach before it will react. There are some attachments that work differently, but some will only work at a certain level and that level will produce a little bit of pain.

But, the body plate, the chain, and a few other attachments are more sensitive and you can get much lighter sensations from them...more pleasurable sensations. And trust me, they can produce interesting results, for sure.

estims, or TENS units also have a threshold that they need to reach before they will work, but they aren't as bad as the wand it, in that way. But in both cases, the wand or other devices, the type of tissue they are touching also has a lot to do with it.

I guess just expect a little bit of pain in most cases, but with some things, like a TENS unit, pain can be something different for some people. I've gone to a Chiropractor and had a quad TENS put on my back and I ended up falling asleep from the sensation.

Sometimes, it's a mental thing...the subject relates the feeling to being electrocuted and that can produce a scary mental feeling. I've been shocked by AC house current, and it is quite painful. I've never felt any electroplay sensations even close to that. I guess someone could turn up the dial, and get close to that kind of pain, but you'd have to be quite the masochist to enjoy it.

Me,. I'm a bit of a wimp so that's why I'm the person who runs the controls. But, being very knowledgeable about those controls, I know how much sensation I'm giving my submissive partner. It's never more than she wants.

I guess electoplay isn't for everybody, but it also has to be introduced in the correct way. If someone who doesn't know what he's doing says he does, it can end up turning you off to electoplay for ever. Oh, sorry for the pun.

Lets see if I can remember Logic 101 after all these years.

Factual statement One: Pain releases endorphins.
Factual statement Two: I like endorphins, they make me feel yummy.

Therefore (Conclusion): I like pain.

Love and Kisses
