Congrats to Lovecraft68 for 11,000 fav authors!

He's definitely in rarefied air. Congrats LC.

That's what incest will get ya. ;)

Congratulations!

Number 3 all time. Impressive.

I'm looking forward to cracking the top 250 in a couple of weeks, but I've got a long to go to get close to that.

I’m gonna extent the congrats as well. I’m happy with my 112 followers and considering LC is only following 8 people, I should feel privileged he’s following me😎 I did take a look at who my 100th follower was and it turned out to be RubenR

Given the huge kick-start Lit gave him for his own publishing activity, he could have been a bit more gracious towards the site, rather than putting in the boot which he often did.

But that aside, without doubt a huge achievement and a lot of hard work. A very hard act to follow, that's for sure. I've just checked his website - he's still churning it out. Congrats, you old bastard ;).

There are only five authors with over 10,000 followers, so that's really something. There's a big drop off from number five to number 6, who has a bit over 7900 followers.

He's left most of his stories here, which is a huge boon for the site. A lot of authors have pulled all their stories when they've left the site.

One high-quality story after another, in multiple categories. An amazing talent.

Yes. He's one of the more gifted pure storytellers on this site. I strongly recommend his essay Write Incest Like A Motherfucker. I think it's essential reading for anyone writing in the category, and it's useful if you plan to write in other categories too. Understanding what underlies the appeal of a category of erotica can help you be a better writer of stories in that category.

Petty comment for a mainstream author to make.

Maybe you didn't get the ;) Emoji. In any case, LC is a good friend of mine and would laugh at the comment. It has nothing to do with his writing or my mainstream stuff.

I'd say it was you who was being petty. Have a nice day, ya hear.

I don't think he means it in a belittling way. And I'm sure Lovecraft wouldn't dispute that writing incest stories makes all the difference for drawing followers. It's by far the most popular category here. If you don't write incest stories you are at a significant disadvantage in terms of picking up views, votes, favorites, and followers, if you care about that sort of thing (it's a big if -- nobody is obligated to care about any of that stuff).

Look at the favorite authors toplist and you'll see either incest writers or writers who've written a lot of stories over a long time (or, more likely, a combination of the two).

Mercedes Bends

The writer of the best bdsm story I’ve read on this site.

Someone sent me the link to this which I just saw a little while ago.

Thank you everyone for the congrats and kind(mostly;)) words.

Who'd have thunk it when I put up that crappy femdpm story up eight years ago I'd see this number?

For those who mentioned it, incest is a big help. Its the kink everyone says "eww' to in public, but is huge on sites like this and regular porn as well. It definitely pads the stats.

A big thanks to the couple people here who mentioned I've accomplished things in other categories as well. Taboo may have gained me the better part of my fan club, but ironically my most successful stories as far as W's and scores etc are in other categories.

As EB pointed out, I'm still writing, and churning out smut, but other projects as well. As we speak am wrapping up the third novel in my erotic horror series Abigail.

I've been doing local cons, Comic cons, horror themed conventions and other things to put myself out there in search of the elusive big break, had a couple of tiny fractures, but nothing major....yet.

Its a whole different thrill when someone buys your book in person from you and a bigger one when at the same event next year they show up hoping you have the sequel.

Of course if I was there with my collection of mom stories, it might be a whole nother story:eek:

Despite what people think, there will always be a place in my heart for this site and its platform, the other yahoo writers here and especially the readers(except LW readers, you guys suck.) But as time went on things changed here, things happened and like everyone else I changed and happened too

But my first few years here were the best and took me to where I am today...still working full time and posting on this board, so um...

Thanks again guys and to Mr Hey All....don't think for a second I don't know that even as you posted this you were calculating how much longer it would take for you to pass me. :D

Actually I'm not laughing at the comment, just at you...as usual.;)
