Christopher Reeve

He's regained feeling in most of his body, can exert light muscle control in some parts of his body, can breathe without a respirator, and is getting better every day [thanks to incredibly intensive, cutting edge treatments].

I am convinced that that man will, one day soon, walk again.

And when he does, I want him to make another Superman movie. It would just be right.

The personal tragedy of Christopher Reeve is leading to medical advances that will literally give life back to countless victims of spinal cord injuries. What one man, with resources, and motivation, can do... it's amazing.

Now that I think about it, I believe in the comic book batman got his back broken by Bane [ahhhh! alliteration!], but went on to recover.

It may be more appropriate to make him the Dark Knight... lemme think...

you are correct

The tenacity, longevity and sheer force of will Mr. Reeve has shown is undeniably inspirational. He gives hope to those with spinal cord injuries, and reminds us all just how powerful the focused human mind can be.

I disagree. The tenacity and force of will shown by Mr Reeve is no more than could be expected from most spinal patients with a very high break/dislocation.

His longevity is more probably due to the expert nursing and medical care that he is receiving.

Have you read about his treatment schedule? He's on excercize machines more often than most bodybuilders, with electrodes activating his muscles [and, as theory predicted, the muscles' activation, in turn, triggered nerve regrowth].

His recovery is what's amazing.
