Keeping Carrier in the USA

I'm not sure that I do care about companies that choose to relocate so they can continue to pay millions in bonuses to their CEOs and upper management.

;)

Do you express the same level of disdain for the salaries paid to athletes, singers and oh, I don't know...authors?

My disdain is reserved for people in companies who fuck over other employees for personal gain.

It was probably prearranged.

Why do you say that? Any evidence?? Indiana did have to come up with substantial tax relief to induce Carrier to stay. My guess is that United Technologies, who owns Carrier and is a major defense contractor, decided that it wasn't worth standing up to the POTUS elect.

I would suggest that neither the nation, nor, in the long run, workers benefit when politicians coerce companies into making business decisions for non-economic reasons.

You have a very dim outlook on everything and everyone. People like that tend not to be especially successful at anything except bitching and moaning. Now go finish mopping the floor. It's almost closing time.

Why would you assume that executive compensation fucks over employees? Are you under the impression that an editor, publicist, typesetter, printer, or deliveryman makes more as an author becomes more sucessfull?

Executives are not beholden to employees. Executives are either principals in their own company or hired by the company's shareholders to run the company on behalf of the shareholders. The shareholders do not hire them to babysit tge human capital, although effectively inspiring anx incentivising employees is one part of tge job. The shareholders hire a CEO to increase shareholder value. Period. No other reason.

If the very best way to increase profits is to fully automatic the entire process and eliminate all employees other than the ones running the robots that's what they should and will do. When they look for employees to run the robots that need to find the very best employees they can find at the lowest possible cost.

The only reason that you would ever want increase employee cost by so much is a dollar is if it would then increase productivity substantially.

They do if they're paid by the piece.

There is no I in team.

There are plenty of I's in Carrier.

It is a major reason for U.S. losing jobs.

I like how people keep harping on "1100 jobs saved" when, in reality, it's 800.
300 were never being laid off, they were going to stay employed, in the US, with Carrier.

Oh, well, that makes all the difference in the world...

I can now see how this was a meaningless event and that Trump's Presidency has already failed.

UTC (United Technologies), Carrier's owner, has a history of, and was fined for, illegally selling military technology to China. UTC's main stockholder is Boston-based multinational bankholder State Street Corp.
State Street Bank has been accused of "stealth outsourcing" or transferring American jobs to their outsourcing partners Syntel and HCL-India under the radar, in small increments to avoid any political backlash. State Street Bank - the second largest client of Syntel - also has a joint venture in the Indian city of Pune with them which they have the option to buy out. The controversy is compounded by the fact State Street bank received an $11.5 million tax incentive from the city of Boston to move into a new location in the South Boston Innovation District as well as 2 billion in TARP assistance all while still sending jobs overseas.
Yeah, the kind of folks Tromp can deal with. You think they care about USAnian jobs? Ha.

It's not their job to give 2 pumps or rat shit about USAnian jobs.

It's their job to generate maximum revenue.

Once you and the fantasy world lefties snap out of the idiotic idea that a business has ANY OTHER objective...your lives will become so much easier.

If case you don't recall,, it was Tromp who campaigned on saving USAnian jobs. That was rather a major focus, hey? But sure, corporations are responsible only to their stockholders, no matter their nationalities, and they have no role in raising living standards in the countries in which they operate. Cf Bhopal.

Yea, so?

Tromp isn't a business he can't save jobs.

He's the apparent POTUS, and when he becomes POTUS he can only ask congress to stop making it so fucking difficult for people employ others or make money themselves.

But that concept freaks (D)'s and (R)'s out alike and Tromp isn't a conservative so that's likely not going to happen, prepare for your lesson on white limited government is a good thing. ;):D
