Keeping Carrier in the USA

I don't see that as the function of a president. If it's just talk about being patriotic and keeping it here what would be the point? They already know and use the concept of buy American-made in their advertising. Responding to appeals to patriotism would be not a good way to run the business. If it's about doing something specific to make it more hospitable to buy labor in America, I can't imagine what that might be that the president is empowered to do.

Maybe this is about a celebrity endorsement? That might work.

you git KICKED in teh balls Cong Err

Carrier was leaving Indiana because of Gov. Pence's policies. Now that Pence is leaving Indiana, they decided to stay a bit longer.

State and local governments offer businesses incentives to stay or to come all the time. Tax incentives, utility incentives. Short of busting the unions, there isn't much they can do to lower the cost of labor, and that's a biggie.
Well, Trump wants to put an end to welfare, so maybe those will all go away.

I wonder who plays golf more, Obama or Tiger Woods?

@realDonaldTrump: Look forward to going to Indiana tomorrow in order to be with the great workers of Carrier. They will sell many air conditioners!

Uh, that plant doesn't manufacture air conditioners

And busybody thinks Trump is a genius.

Somebody should do a side-by-side comparison, once all the facts are known, between the Carrier jobs deal and the Iran nuclear deal.
