Ok, guys, I love this thread! Keep those wonderful pics coming. Simon, a friend of mine keeps bees and on Saturday, during knitting group, gave us more information than I ever knew. It is a real science. She also told us her "swarm" story. lol

DoRaMe, delighted to meet you.
You prompt me to post a couple of my swarm stories:

Why the heck did they choose the roof!

More typically, a branch which I can easily thwack with a stick and knock them off into a box

Fresh felled wild cherry split to dry faster and laid in the greenhouse - gives it a winter use.

I bet that cherry burned nice and hot. I like smoking pork shoulders and fish in oak and cherry wood.
My first haul of cherry so that's good to know. I have access to a beech wood where cherries have self seeded and there they grow tall straight and long and no use except for timber. So I'll be fetching plenty more. I'm accustomed to using fallen timber long dead, so thinning out a wood and then this split-to-dry routine is new to me. Any tips and I'm listening.

ps forgive me using that cut piece. Had been taking up space in an outhouse for years and, well, as you see it makes a fine splitting base. Sacrilege to a real woodman I guess!

Just getting Inked!

Nice belt buckle ;)

2 pair. And a hogtie strap, lol.

*eyes gleaming* they give you a hogtie...strap?

Oh... that's hot. Vroom :)

Very nice :D And what's wrong with dancing? Dancing is the sexiest!

Now THAT is sexy...fully clothed, totally hot!

I totally agree with you!!!

Just getting Inked!
I will be doing that in April when I get back from my #1 bucket list trip to India. I want to have someone design a mandala with spirals about 4" in diameter to go around my belly button. lol

DoRaMe, delighted to meet you.

Hahahaha! She found hers in a nearby limb. She was also talking about how they feed up and not down, how she is debating whether to harvest the honey or let them keep to overwinter, the taste of the clover honey in comparison to the goldenrod, etc. Very interesting

Great pics, Gentlemen! Thank you so much. Rae

Older pic, but it's me and Porkchop.

That rough cut lumber deserves a place of honor as a cross member in a barn, not as a stop for wood splitting! Is that oak?

I had a massive beech tree put down on my property because it was eaten out by carpenter ants and ash borer beetles. Poor tree. It was beautiful tree and gave lots of shade in the summer. But it burns nicely and is great for smoking salmon! So have fun with it! It's a strong smell, in my experience.

Heck no it's just softwood. stained with preservative.
Impressed with your knowledge of the traits of different woods. Fascinating.
The huge trees in our own garden are Lime, which I think you call Linden? But that's another bee story ...

Dance or not I won't be needing any of that wood to heat me up since you and the rest of the guys are doing a great job of heating me up with all these sexy pics.

Older pic, but it's me and Porkchop.

Mmmm. Yummy!! Oh and the dog's cute too.

Sorry if I missed anyone there was a lot to catch up on. I love love love this thread. Keep it up guys!!
