Boyce Avenue is actually a trio, although only one of them sings, which is why it's easy to confuse it. I saw them in concert a couple of years ago and the lead singer sounds amazing live.

While posting in another thread I was thinking about music. In case you didn't know, I'm chinese, and I listen to chinese music, and I was thinking about how poetic chinese music is in comparison to Western. For example, this is one of my favourite songs. It's a mix of chinese and western instruments, and makes me feel so much. The translation is below as well.

So I love music. My favourites are r&b, hip hop and soul, although I like pretty much anything as long as it has a decent melody.

The album I'm most looking forward to is the new release from Janelle Monae. It comes out in about two weeks - I loved her first album and I'm looking forward to what she can do. There's a duet with Miguel which has been released on youtube which I absolutely love. I've seen Miguel live before and he has an amazing voice.

He has some very creative ideas, and my recent favourite is his crossover of Star Wars and Calvin and Hobbes. I was a big C&H fan when I was a child, and this really brings back some fond memories. It's quite an interesting watch that provides the history behind the over sexualisation of Asian females, and emasculation of Asian men in the media.

According to OKCupid's statistics, Asian men get the least likes out of all the ethnic groups. Oh well.
