Ronda Rousey

I think maybe you're just a little bit racist...

Racist??
I'm racist because I know Ronda is a better fighter that Serena Williams??
I think Serena Williams would kick Ronda's ass at tennis.
I only mentioned Floyd Mayweather because apparently I heard he's the greatest fighter in the world. I don't think any one dimensional boxer is since the sport is irrelevant, like pro wrestling

Serena would kick her ass in tennis, the ring, and then design a killer prom dress, all in the same afternoon.

SW- low C.O.G.

Rousey is a judoka, she has the knowledge to use the "low C. O. G." against Mz. Williams. Plus she clearly has the striking skills. I reiterate, Serena has no formal fight training, she would be at a severe disadvantage.

You are absolutely right. 12-0 it is.

56% by submission, 10% striking, 34% takedowns. The lady is a dynamo! DAMN!

Comshaw

Being good at tennis is only part of SW's success story. She trains like a man with manlike equipment and she has muscle mass like a man on steroids (draw your own conclusion) plus the endurance factors.

This is a no contest match.

Training like a man is not fighting like a man. That's what Rowdy Ronda does...

~and~

She trains like a man.

Facts don't mean anything in a fight.

There has almost never been an mma champ who wasn't well versed in fighting. At that level, it's never just the fight in the dog, the dog in the fight does matter.

*and the closest that apply were very early on in the venue, and those people were quickly made irrelevant.

There is simply too much you need to know about striking and ground to expect athleticism to make up the difference, much like tennis, where actually being good at tennis matters.

That said, I'd let either of them stay over if they needed a place.

Disadvantaged skillwise.. Williams would overpower her on strength alone.

That is an ignorant statement.

Akijitsu is the art of using another's strength and power against them, as is Judo. If you have ever seen Ronda fight, you would understand this. It doesn't matter how fucking strong you are if you have no idea of the buzz saw you are about to step into because one single over-reach leads to Ronda's signature arm-bar move and trust me on this, Rhonda is a helluva lot stronger than Serena's elbow joint.

You should trust me on this one. I have well over 30 years vested in the martial arts and spent my youth in the ring kick-boxing.

MMA is fixed just like all the other pay-for-pugilist venues...oh, did you think it was real?

lol.

Almost never?

In the very beginning, they had some guys who were just strong and mean but with no training. That period was brief and fleeting and a guy like that stands little or no chance in the ring with the typical mma fighter today who has to cross-train in several disciplines just to be competitive.

I'm assuming you're trolling here...

It's racist trolling, actually. Any athletic black woman in any sport is perpetually followed around by "hilarious" comments from America's lovable bigots about how they're really a man and probably have a dick. That's why Serena can supposedly beat up Ronda in "ann's" mind, because she's "really" a dude. It has nothing to do with anything in the real world.

As for Ronda Rousey -- yes, she's the bomb. And that must have been a damned satisfying fight for her given that Correia went maybe a wee bit overboard with the pre-match trash-talking. She had that 34-second knockout coming and how.

Shadup, Zumi, ya big racist turd.

You are the one who has the fervent imagination if you can watch these matches and conclude that they are fixed...

You probably thought that Hulk Hogan was a skilled professional wrestler.
Please lay out more facts to build a case in this facts based discussion.

Serena is a beast and you know it.

No, I actually met Hulk Hogan on my job as an entertainment security expert. I've been backstage. It is a show and the WWE has been very upfront for some time now about it being a show.

Serena is a beast when it comes to tennis. I agree. She is a strong woman. I agree. SHe is very bad ass and hot. I agree.

Rowdy Ronda Rousey and the other men and women of mma are the real deal; the last real warriors in the West and probably the next big target for the squeamish Left. They are not putting on a show for money, they are fighting for personal pride, and if you have ever seen some of the blood flying, you realize just how real this last remaining form of combat actually is. Again, as a promoter of these kinds of shows and as a teacher and coach, I can assure you that these fights are not being staged or "fixed."

Do they get paid for fighting or not? (see bolden text)

You just lied. How are we suppose to believe anything else you say on the subject?

The amateurs do not.

The pros have to keep a day job and train unless they reach the upper echelons.

Lying would be saying, they do not get paid to do this. Telling the truth is saying that the money takes a backseat to pride, adrenaline, the challenge and the recognition of their warrior peers.

It's why I fought. It's why I competed in tournament play until the age of 42 using my experience and training to win grand championships competing against men half my age.

I'm not talking about amateurs. That's basically a bar fight.

Almost never?

Early on in mma history there were a few that made it far that qualify. But the game changed, there is such pressure to have both ground and striking skill, and so many have it, you will not win if you don't know how to fight. If you can't fight an orthodox fighter and a southpaw, you will not win, if you can't fight a ground fighter, you will not win. It's just not the same game, it has progressed far, even if it is a crapfest as far as the media end of it. There is absolutely no reason for them to pursue promoting fixes that involve non-fighters, even if they want to do a fix.

Look at boxing. The known fixes involve real boxers. Fighting is complex business, all boxers at pro level can perform all the related skills, and it's simpler than mma, where there is ground work and kicks and all the additional complications that entails. A non pro fighter has no chance.

No, for the most part, these guys actually train long and hard before they enter the ring. I know, I cross train them in my disciplines. You really do not know what you are talking about and are now simply trying to demean the sport and the players as a gambit in order to bolster your first faulty premise, that Ronda does not stand a chance against Serena. Well, Ronda is an Olympic medalist and has extensive fighting experience. Serena is the equivalent in a fantasy (you know, like unicorns) matchup as the knife brought to the fight while Ronda is the gun.
