soooooo with 50 shades set to release soon, I'd like to know what you people think of it.... a lot of people I know are head over heels for it... just now I told my friend Christian is abusive and she replies "that's cuz he's a dominant..." yes he is but towards Ana he's highly abusive and controlling....
What bothers me is that people would read this and walk away with the wrong idea of BDSM..... and they'll think that it's okay for a man to treat them like the way Christian treats Ana....
Opinions?

Boycott the movie and anything and/or anyone involved with it!
Complain to target about the merchandising!
Refused to go to any theater that shows it!

Unfortunately I know it won't happen in my country...
If the abuse rate goes up after ppl watch this I won't be surprised.... :/
It sounds horrible of me but that's how it is.... :/

I am a dirty slut. Treat me like u treat a whore. Make me cum like a bitch.

you are asking people to treat you like a whore, yet you have issues with 50 shades of grey. hypocritical much?

You know that quote by Lorde about no new ideas...it could have ended with those three words and would have been so appropriately applied to Lit.

(There is or was a 50 shades thread made a blink or two ago, try searching for topics that may have been covered already if you want to discuss pop culture)

Buckskin Betty says " you are asking people to treat you like a whore, yet you have issues with 50 shades of grey. hypocritical much?"

Was a badly written book. Film could be interesting but not sure about casting, not what I would have expected..

The movie will pretty much be the "2000's" (is that what we call this?) version of 9 1/2 weeks.

But the OP is right, in the book Gray is an abusive sack of shit he is not a dominant, the author only knows sparkly vampires and nothing of BDSM.

Its appalling that so many women found this "sexy" more appalling many now think this is what they want to find.

I don't know how close the movie will be to the books, but something that does not bode well is the fact the original actor cast to play Gray, quit the movie because he did no longer wanted to be associated with the character.

Seeing the movie is rewarding bad behavior from the abusiveness of Gray to the simpering mindless cowering Ana (who I swear should be carrying a copy of the 1950's house wives handbook because that is how far back she sets women's rights with her behavior)

To the thieving author to her equally(and moreso as they know the law) unethical publisher.

I think as a marketing promotion they should give each woman who sees it a slap in the face, because that's pretty much the message.

If she is asking to be treated in such a manner that is her right, the sub controls the dom, you should know that, or maybe you don't.

But being treated like one against your will or with no knowledge whatsoever of what you are getting into (like the book) then it is non consensual and not the same thing

You're trying to make a snarky point and you failed.

The fact is literotica is full of the type of people who think shades is accurate because they don't know any better, they just think they do. Posers is the word that stands out, or lemmings take your pick.

Your comment makes you sound like one.

abuse is something else altogether...
and if u give me a contract to sign i need to know exactly what i'm getting into... i expect u to keep ur side of it... i expect u to stop when i say so... and if i'm not comfortable with something don't do it...
i don't need u to keep tabs on me all the time....
it's not hypocritical... I'm saying this is giving the wrong ideas to ppl who have no idea what bdsm is all about...

And this is a guy who did some gay rimming in his first role.

That makes it more damning of the Shades role

If he is okay being portrayed in that light, but dropped "Gray" that might say even more about what a sack the character is.

Maybe he didn't want to be loathed like the kid who played Joffrey in Game of Thrones and now is supposedly done with acting because people were hating him

People do make irrational judgements of actors in their roles.

I recall Lawrence Fisbourne talking about the hate he received from playing Ike Turner

"Doms" are weak, sniveling little scum bags, and the "subs" deserve them

Its a match made in heaven, and pure entertainment for the rest of us.

I don't have an opinion on the movie or the books though.

Doms and subs are people acting on sexual desires, pure and simple. If you're wired either way, you get it. If you're not, you never will.

In the meantime people who call others weak and sniveling scum bags while typing away safely behind their keyboards have no grounds to call anyone 'weak'

But I know, Johnny you would say that to people's faces, right? Of course you would.

If you could learn to speak english first that would be swell.
