I think everyone is wise to the fact that all that would happen if you gave the Pallys their own country is they would "arm up" instead of creating jobs for its people. So we all know how that would play out.

I am not smart enough to know what is the best thing to do to solve the problem, but I do know that what we are doing now ain't working.

Israel has become the new south africa and the Pally's are the new mistreated blacks.

Our support for Israel has made us a target for the unhappiness that the muslim world feels about events in the middle east. Israel's actions only make it worst.

I feel that if we started to taper off our support it would force the leaders of Israel to consider making a go of living with their neighbors.

At the present time we are giving arms to Israel that leads to the difference in the numbers of dead on each side. This last summer I think it was something like three thousand dead in the gaza side and fourteen on the Jews side. That is our fault.
Maybe if the numbers were a bit more even the Jews would make the effort to find the path to peace with the muslims. Maybe not, religion is a very hard drug to wean yourself from.

I am all for this. Let Israel stand alone, and handle this as they see fit. However, I doubt the world would let them....

Recognizing Cuba's brutal dictatorship gives absolutely nothing to America, as Cuba produces nothing that America needs.

"Blame America First" liberals may begin vacationing in Cuba, but that only hurts tourism in other Caribbean islands. Also, it's entirely possible that political-progressives visiting Cuba will see for themselves what fifty years of oppressive socialism has done to that once prosperous island nation.

Eventually, somebody in Cuba's Marxist hierarchy will attempt to "reform" their disastrous economic failures (like Gorbachev did with the U.S.S.R.), and the entire Communist government will come crashing down (as happened in Poland, Czechoslovakia, Hungary, Russia, Bulgaria, Rumania, Mongolia, Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia, Yugoslavia, Albania, etc. etc. etc.) and the politically-progressive left in this nation will no doubt unhappily blame the U.S.A. for the demise of yet another Marxist-socialist state that they admired & praised.

The Israelis will be looking out for their own interests. I doubt they will allow an Iranian nuclear weapon even if they have to use them to stop it.

Then we'd damned well better stop them from stopping it; even the existence of Iranian nuclear capability, dangerous as it would be, is less immediately dangerous than an Israeli airstrike on Iran, even a conventional airstrike.

Ulaven --- Watching the FOX News Channel probably means that you'll be aware of some stories that have been mostly ignored by the pro-Obama news networks - for example, Jonathan Gruber's embarrassing admissions about the lies told to pass the 2009 Affordable Health Care Act. The administration desperately wanted to keep that news silent, but FOX let the cat out of the bag by actually showing Gruber saying the most awful things about the intelligence of Obama voters!

You're full of shit KO. There is nothing more dangerous for Israel than a nuclear armed Iran, who promised to wipe them off the face of the Earth. Remember they raided Saddam's nuclear reactor site twice.

Yeah, that's why the Iranians have built their nuclear reactors underground and bomb-hardened. It would take one major airstrike to damage them. And the bigger the airstrike, the bigger the chance it will provoke disproportionate retaliation -- and not from Iran alone.
