In The Paper

In the paper yesterday was an article about a new senior apartment building in town

For a cheap Fed loan the owner offers cheap rent to geezers, but there's a catch.

Renters must comply with all rules created by management.

For example: Management created a WATCH COMMITTEE. The watch committee has keys to every apartment and authority to enter your apartment to check temperature, plants, pets, cigarettes, etc. The watch committee encourages renters to expose rule violators, and folks may be summarily evicted.

The watch committee also monitors common areas. They recently disconnected the teevee in the community room after someone left the room and didn't turn the teevee OFF. The teevee was OFF for one month.

Pets must be confined to a rolling pet carrier. Walking your dog or carrying your dog isn't allowed.

Renters must police common areas and are responsible for shoe scuffs and litter and wall marks. If they don't the managers husband (the building janitor) is authorized to organize a GI PARTY to fix the problems.

The paper contacted the building owner who replied WTF!!!

"If you live in my house, you'll live by my rules," is pretty much the rule everywhere.
