Okay, so since my thread was a smashing success, it's not my turn to start a new thread. So, here it is. Keeping with the spirit of Australia, it seemed fitting for my second victim to be an Aussie as well. Plus, I believe you were the next on the list.

I'm not around any other forum other than the HT, so I don't know much about GooodGurrl. Since I'm starting from ground zero, I'll start with the basics. Answer the ones you like.

1. What brought you to lit?
2. Have you made any meaningful friendships here?
3. What's your occupation?
4. Top three movies.
5. Top three musical artists.
6. Top three celebrity crushes.
7. What is your favourite thing about lit?
8. What is your least favourite thing about lit?
9. Is there anyone on this site you would like to get to know better?
10. What is your dream job?

What advice would you give to someone who is applying for a job in an adult store?

10. What is your dream job?

1. The articles. ;) Actually, it was the erotic literature. I was reading some other bdsm fiction, but began looking for more and found this site on google. After a bit of time reading stories, I began searching the rest of the site. I found the chat first and that worked for a few months, but... then it didn't... and it still didn't... and continued to NOT. So I kept looking around and found the forums and ... pretty soon I was posting naughty pics of myself.

2. Friendships? No, I haven't been here that long. A few weeks, actually. I've talked to a few people and hooked up with a few. But I haven't found friendships, per se.

3. Right now I am a student and a mother. Both of these things keep me pretty busy. I'm looking for part time work at the moment, but so far unsuccessful. Kinda broke right now, which is not fun, but I get by.

4. Okay, ask the difficult questions why don't you? This is hard, because my favourite movies all change each day/hour/minute. I'll list a few, though: Bringing Up Baby, Kill Bill, Singing In The Rain, Benny & Joon, CopyCat, Freeway, Silence of the Lambs, The Hunger Games, Chicago...

5. You're killing me. Sheryl Crow, No Doubt, The Whitlams.

6. Angie Harmon, Jennifer Morrison, Kristen Bell.

7. The articles? :p I like the openness and the fact you can pretty much find a topic to interest you, or make one, and... even though you sometimes (!) have to deal with a troll or three, they can be pretty easy to ignore (or bait, depends on your want, really).

8. The trolls. Random, uninitiated cock pics.

9. One or two. ;)

10. I'm actually studying to achieve my dream job. By the end of this year I shall have a Diploma in Remedial and Sports Massage. I'm halfway into having four Diplomas in complimentary medicine. The others being Reflexology, Traditional Chinese Medicine and Shiatsu.

We shall see how successful I am after that. I'm pretty intuitive when it comes to hands on healing, so I fair extremely well in clinic and classes. I think the success of my career will depend upon my luck in setting up somewhere to work, rather than being able to do my job. Yes, I sound over-confident, but this is something I know I can do, so I'm not going to hide the fact.

What advice would you give to someone who is applying for a job in an adult store?

Well, I worked in an adult store in Australia. So, take that as it comes, it might not be applicable to overseas stores.

Firstly: apply. You'd be surprised at the amount of people who *don't* apply for jobs at these stores. They either don't think to apply, or are scared to, or really wouldn't because they don't approve. That alone puts things in your favour.

Secondly, be yourself. Be open and honest and, mostly, accepting. If you work in these places, you're going to see some shit. A lot of shit. Way out there shit. Don't seem too eager, but make sure they know you're not going to be judgmental to any of the customers, be they straight, gay, bi, trans, undecided, undeclared, prostitutes, strippers, dwarves with a granny fetish, what the fuck ever. It's ALL GOOD.

Know your product, be able to answer questions about which vibe is best for which situation. How to extend the life of your sex toys. Which vibe cleaner is best. Which lube is best. Which anal plug to recommend, etc. You don't have to test these out, (at least not every single one of them, I'm sure you'll get staff discounts on the ones you do), but you can get a lot of knowledge from research and also listening to your customers. What some of DVDs, read some of the mags. Know which DVD production companies do which type of porn. These will all come with the job, though.

You need to keep a straight face when a guy comes up to ask you in one breath where the Anal Gang Rape DVDs are kept (hey, buddy, noncon is illegal and we don't stock it, but have fun looking around), and in the next asks for your phone number. (suuuuure, buddy). This advice applies to male and female employees, being hit on by customers is guaranteed, no matter who you are. This actually happened to me when my boyfriend at the time, a big menacing looking fellow, was standing five feet away.

Thirdly, have a sense of humour and don't be afraid to show it. Remember, this will be the one job you have that, when a customer asks you a question about a product, you can tell them "shove it up your ass". A *lot* of the customers will be nervous coming into these stores. A customer service person with a sense of humour will go a *long* way into easing these nerves.

Fourth, have a strong stomach. As well as funny and amusing shit, you will deal with gross stuff. The public as a whole are inconsiderate people. The customers of an adult store? Some are putrid.

Don't be scared off, though. I worked in one for five years and I only ever had to eject two customers from the premises. One for being transphobic towards another customer. And the other for trying to sneak into the cinema repeatedly without paying.

After this, the rest is just common sense. Make yourself presentable. Polite. Able to handle shit from customers. Easy going when you need to be, but firm when the time comes. Show case any customer service skills you have. Be happy to learn what you need.

Lastly, it's just a job like any other. Unless you're specifically *applying* to be a stripper or sex worker, there is zero chance of them expecting you to perform any of those jobs. In fact, they definitely like to keep these job descriptions separate. So apply for the job like you would one at Target or any other store.

Hope this helps!!

1. What do you love about Australia?
2. What do you dislike about Australia?
3. Do you have a pet kangaroo?
4. How do you feel about hippies?

1. The vibe. (buah hah hah, that's one for you Aussie folk). No.... I don't know, really. The livability. The relaxation. The friendliness. The free healthcare. The education accessibility. The weather (even if I complain about it). The beauty.

2. The distance. It's hard to get things without paying a metric fuckton of postage on it. And a lot of my friends are overseas, from the US or Europe. It's virtually impossible to visit them. I have friends I've had for decades that I haven't even met in person. The internet has, however, made it easier to get movies/music/tv shows on time. Instead of waiting months the way we used to (back in MYYYY day, when I had to walk to the movies, uphill, both ways, in snow, barefoot...).

3. Not quite. I have a pet cat, though. Sometimes he jumps high if I scare him. Does that count?

4. Any specific hippies? Am I supposed to have feelings about them? I don't really have any feelings about hippies in general. Live and let live, really. If I met some in person, I guess it would depend on their separate personalities.

Some might generally call ME a hippie, given that I'm into natural and complimentary medicine.

4. How do you feel about hippies?

hmm - lot of hippie bashing these days :(

I'll throw a mungbean at yous all if you keep this up :)

Questions for GooodGurrl? This astounding person lives in Australia - I don't need to know more :)

1. What sort of part time work are you looking for?

2. What TV Shows do you watch religiously?

3. What lead you to create a pic thread?

4. Tim Tams or Mint Slice?

1. Anything I can get my hands on, really. I have a combined total of 13 years experience in retail, so I know I can do that. Plus over 6 years in Admin, so I can do that as well.

2. Religiously? At the moment, I would say: Once Upon A Time, Rizzoli and Isles, and Game of Thrones. I have a few others that I come and go with, some I have let drop and mean to pick up again sooner or later if and when I find the time. But those are the ones I make time for. I'm a big fan of Joss Whedon shows, but haven't picked up Agents of Shield yet. Maybe sooner or later I will.

3. I... hard to explain the pull, really. I had a few photos that I'd taken during sessions with online doms, mostly of my clamps, and once I found the forum for amateur pics, I kinda felt the need... and then, once I had posted THOSE photos, I really liked the attention, so I kept going. These guys and gals know how to boost someone's ego, I tell you what.

4. Neither, really. I mean, if I had to choose one, I would choose Tim Tams, but I'm not really a big eater of chocolate as a whole** (*gasp* SACRILEGE, I can hear you all saying it now). Tim Tams have a lot more flavours, plus, they have turkish delight flavours. And I am very big into turkish delight.

Although, I have to admit, when i'm in the mood for it. A good mint slice is very nice.

(** This, from someone who did a whole melted chocolate set in the photo thread. Buah hah hah. Most of that got washed off in the shower and I used the left over choc in hot milk to make a hot chocolate drink... but the results of the photos were fun).

If there was a party celebration the weekend previous, what number would you associate that with?

Thanks for the detailed info! :D What was the best thing you got out of your adult store stint?

... seven

I had a pretty quiet weekend. So no actual celebrations. But I had a good weekend, nonetheless. Bit of a quiet homebody at the moment.

If there had been a party, I would have given it a seven. *nods* that seems right.

Did I answer that right? Is that what you were asking?

That's hard to say.

Apart from the money (which, you know, is usually the best thing out of any job)... I got to explore a lot about my sexuality, in terms of which products excited me, what DVDs I preferred to watch, magazines I liked to read. I talked to some amazing people.

It presents an opportunity that other places just wouldn't. A retail job at any other store, for instance, would rarely lead to discussions about sexual preferences, kinks, local fetish clubs, etc... whereas that job pretty much threw that door wide open and made it everyday conversation, with customers, with bosses, with coworkers, with the strippers, etc.

I learned to be comfortable with myself and what I did like and what I didn't. I think this is the best thing I got out of it.

I kind of already knew, going in, but really kept it to myself. Afterwards, I wasn't hesitant at all to ask for it.

Nice! And one of the sweetest, sexiest new Lit members....by far!

Do you pronounce the letter R when you say the word bear? Or do you say bayeh?

Do you bathe regularly? (This helps rule out the hippie possibility)

What are your three favourite songs?

Who is better looking- Julian McMahon or Hugh Hackman?

You know, I actually had to speak it out loud to check, and yes I do pronounce the letter 'R'. :)

I would like to quote Buffy for this second question, when she is asked about bathing: "Yeah, I- I often do. I'm actually known for it". :D

Ooooh, three favourite songs. These favourite questions are often the hardest.
- "Where Do You Go To (My Lovely) - Peter Starstedt.
- "Home" - Sheryl Crow.
- a song for this very moment "Let It Go" - Idina Menzel, just because I love the singability of it. I'm very much a sing-to-broadway-musical/musical move soundtrack kind of person. (not that, you know, I *can* sing, nobody wants to hear it or anything, but I like to do it).

... Um. Huh. Now you're asking. I have not so pleasant associations with Julian McMahon, so I am going to have to say Hugh by default.

I'm not that big on male celebs, though. I don't really notice them as much as I do the female ones. THOSE I could name a list for ;)

What's the beef with Julian?!?!

Nothing too bad. He played a character on a show I watched, that I did not particularly like, that's all. So the association isn't always a good one. I don't, like, hate the guy or anything.

I just like him less than the other choice :p

If you could live in one place other than Melbourne, where would it be?

What is your dream vacation?

If you could meet one person from any time, who would it be?

Who is the most influential person in your life?

What are your hobbies?

Was it Christian Troy?

Brisbane, Queensland. I do like the sun. And I love the laidback, easy going-ness of QLD. Plus I have relatives there I don't get to see very often.

Dream vacation? Any. It's been a while since I've been anywhere. But I would have to say... somewhere tropical. Beaches, sun, oversized garishly coloured and overly fruit decorated cocktails, bikinis, palm trees, maybe a forest nearby with a hidden waterfall...

Hmmm. I would like to meet Anne Frank, I recently read the unabridged version of her diary and she actually seems really cool. Plus, I had no idea she was actually bisexual. Other than that... there are SO MANY. Joan of Arc might be cool.

Okay, I'm going to get trite and cliched. My kids. I have reached the point in my life where I've turned away from a lot of my early life, the people that had negative influences on me, the people who claim to care but really don't. So right now, in my life, the two people who influence me to do better, that motivate me to continue when I don't feel like doing it, they are my kids.

My hobbies? Hmm. I like writing and I like reading, these would be the main ones. I like playing board games (but sometimes people don't like playing them with me, I have a tendency to get competitive), singing badly to musicals... then there's the general stuff like going out with friends, etc, etc, etc...

(I sound like a bad online dating profile... and I like long walks on the beach and cuddling up under a blanket with a hot cocoa...)

I don't have any great questions to ask, but I do want to say I'm reading and enjoying the spotlight threads.

Gooodgurrl, I like you! Your answers are great. I bet you're a blast to just hang with.

Thanks!! I have a dicey personality. People either love hanging out with me or despise it utterly. So hopefully you'd be in the former group ;)
