Will Ukraine situation lead to World War III?

I wonder how many septics could even find the Crimea or Ukraine on a map before this. And now they're all experts on the area. Oy vey, war really is god's way of teaching geography to Americans.

Its not that we can't find it, its just that nobody cares...

The biggest mistake the Ukraine made was no doubt on the advice of American liberals and others, they gave up their nuclear weapons.

What Vette said ^^^^^ That's why Iran wants a nuke, well among other reasons it's a giant "don't Fuck with me Button".

WW3 always possible when itchy fingers, idiots and people with hidden agendas are all in the mix.

Um, so now you're saying you WANT the former Soviet Republics to have nuclear weapons?
Yeah, lucky for you lot we knew where the English Channel was.

I'm guessing you'd run like a little bitch if ever confronted with a shooting war, scab. so I'd be a little less free with the "we" stuff.

Go to bed souse, you're slurring your words.

And you can tell that from words on a screen, scab? Wow, you truly are amazing!

More shit talking people who work for their paycheck I see.....you're a special sort of scum bag.

I'm saying they wouldn't be in the fix they are now if they had kept those they already had.

So, let me be sure I'm understanding you, you think the former soviet republics should have hung on the their nukes? All of the former soviet republics?

The world is very fortunate that they did; it rules out the possibility of nuclear escalation here, which is a real possibility considering how many on all sides of these conflicts, in Ukraine and in Russia, appear to be crazy.

Please knock off the BS. All it did was to facilitate the invasion and assure their demise. All we need is to have a liberal in office the enemy knows will never use them, like Obama, and our demise will be facilitated as well.

Well that'll never ever happen. There are no Americans remotely that liberal. Good or bad it's hard to tell but there are no liberals like that.

"Joe, get the Red crayon"

Remember when the protests turned violent in the middle of the Olympics? It was reported Putin told the then Ukrainian PM just keep a lid on it until the Olympics are over.

I think Putin saw an opportunity he could exploit and began making plans. The only gamble was Western reaction. As long as there was no armed resistance from the Ukrainian military there was little chance of western intervention.

The issue was decided once the Ukrainians surrendered their weapons. The Crimea will goes to the soviets.

Obama to Biden "Joe get the red crayon this map needs updating" .

Remember the words of the last great Democrat:

"We dare not tempt them with weakness. For only when our arms are sufficient beyond doubt can we be certain beyond doubt that they will never be employed."

Here are the next three sentences:

But neither can two great and powerful groups of nations take comfort from our present course--both sides overburdened by the cost of modern weapons, both rightly alarmed by the steady spread of the deadly atom, yet both racing to alter that uncertain balance of terror that stays the hand of mankind's final war.

So let us begin anew--remembering on both sides that civility is not a sign of weakness, and sincerity is always subject to proof. Let us never negotiate out of fear. But let us never fear to negotiate.

Yes, the Baltic states are next.

The Baltic states that are in NATO? I'll take that bet.

There's a good reason, by the way, that none of the last three presidents have shown the slightest interest in getting Ukraine into NATO.
