The lady you're referring to was Intrigued. As you said, she was one of Lance's early targets.

The troll made some very vague insinuations about what had happened at a Litogether, and Intrigued, who was pretty hysterical at the best of times, was more than happy to fill in the rest of the blanks.

This incident was all part of the greater shitstorm around Guileful or Marximus or whatever the hell names they used. There might have been showier dramas, but that was definitely the most costly in terms of GB careers that were directly or indirectly ended.

I think the Karen Kraft situation deserves notice for being so long-lasting--it was the Les Miserables of GB drama. There was snark about her being male from almost the minute she showed up, and one near-miss on proving who she really was (which turned out to be substantially correct). Finally, after years, a break in the case.

Yeah, I found that convincing as did a lot of other people, because, you know, who would ever fabricate something like that?

But that's been a common thread behind many of my favorite Lit dramas: amazement at what people will do to carry on a deception. I still don't know what KRC was getting out of pretending to be a woman, which I'm sure is one reason I never thought much about the subject until 36 hours ago.
