HS wanders in and shakes his head in disbelief as he reads through the events he missed. In the silent halls, the kitchen is soon on the go, coffee, muffins and a special of 24 bantam and quail eggs scrambled up to fluffy perfection, he calls out a cheery ''Good morning special family and friends''

Then grabs a chair at the favored corner table, splits the newspaper sections and pens a note to DD, explaining his absence and more importantly his find in a nearby wood.

With his own memories of the pain and pleasures of parenting flickering through his mind, he reckons he proved up to it and then focuses on the latest cricket news......

What is the volumetric equivalent of quail eggs vs one chicken egg? I'm not an egg eater but I like the heavier flavor when it is used in foods and making all of this pasta has me thinking I'd like to try using them. Or in a custard. I have a ready supply....a friend owns a game farm.

Quail eggs are small maybe eight or nine to make up the weight of a normal size hens egg. Thing is they are nearly all yolk and the color they add mixed in is a bit like saffron in rice but not as marked or pricey.
Probably a bit of a splash what I did with them, but it was a one off treat. Quail eggs are best served up hard boiled then chilled, with smoked salmon;)

Turning from the Great room message board with a smile, HS groans at the garden weeds, then heads into the kitchen to prepare a Saturday special breakfast of bacon, cheese and tomatoes, grilled and rolled in fresh oatcakes, lashings of coffee and of course scrambled eggs.

MMMMmmm .... the aroma is amazing ;-)

Morning to all the Lovelies and Gents of the thread!!

Ladling my plate full before settling on the Chaise Lounge, and enjoying my mug of coffee. Going over the list of To Do's for the day. So much to do, so little time.

Have a wonderful day, everyone!

I'm sad. I didn't get to take my babies to the water park today, it was too chilly with the wind. They were so excited about it too. *sigh*

Two weeks ago, it was pushing 100 here. Today, it went over 80 in some spots. The weather is just so screwy

Same here. It's been warm and sunny all week. Yesterday, it cooled down some and rained. Today it was sunny, but barely hit 70. :(

Hello Mister oh so cool with the come backs!

:)

How has your weekend been?

Unusual can best describe it so far. Yesterday I ran into my first love, though all I could do was make eye contact and nod my head, she was busy talking with I would assume were co-workers, though I received dirty looks from a couple of them.

And today, coming up with the idea of a series of short stories/novelettes/novellas involving the mix of sword and sorcery fantasy and Noir suspense, all centering around the night of my first love's prom night
