psychology behind the use of 'Daddy'

daddy

i would love to be called daddy its just for us men gets so many things going through are minds----i am sure some us thing of it as an incest thing but yes some of us thing of it as a protector----pm me randy

Well, I can't speak for every guy, but I find it gross because I'm a recent father of baby girls. I don't want that word to have a sexual meaning to me, that's all.

Though I can see why some others might enjoy it. The taboo aspect lends it a kind of fascination, and I guess for some the attraction could come from the sense of being a caretaker or protector.

And don't underestimate the incest factor either: it's one of the most popular categories on this site, apparently. ;)

I have called a few men friends Daddy before in a friendly way. I had a short-term lover that liked it too. It seems more of a term of endearment rather than something sexual in my experience.

I sincerely dislike it. I have a (biological) Daddy. There's no way a dude I'm fucking could ever measure up to the level of awesome of my real father, so I'm not sullying that title to get some dude's rocks off.

Girls who call me "Daddy" means they expect to get away with murder. And they do. :D

hey there, in kilty and im totally new to this world. my curiosity abounds so unless i find someone willing to answer those questions, i may be posting a few. ;)

i am interested in your views on the psychology behind the moniker 'daddy'. i find it to not be some incestuous thing, but rather a name given to somone who is taking care of you.

yet i've read some men find it alarming or gross to be called that and i wonder why.

do you like this nicname? do you dislike it? why?

Men like responsibility and privilege without commitment the word daddy said on line by an unknown girl provides or seems to provide both

For me its a power-play thing, I guess. I like it and my boyfriend (who is almost seven years older than me) digs it as well. We tried using other monkiers in the past, but they just didn't seem to fit and felt awkward when said aloud. I can only say "master" sarcastically in an Igor type voice and "sir" just didn't seem to suit him. I got a DELIGHTFUL reaction after I called him "daddy" and was then dubbed "baby girl" and it has been that way since. :D

I can defs see how it would weird some people out though, ahahaha. The whole "daddy issues" thing has been tossed at me a couple times which is hilarious because my father and I are pretty damn close and have a very healthy relationship.

I agree. I find the "daddy" name to be more of a power play thing vs a true father figure/incest thing. But just my guess, no experience calling anyone daddy. :).

My view is…. calling someone Daddy is not black or white…

It is the meaning that the two using the title or name Daddy give it…

Being call "Daddy” can imply many different things and have several different underlining meanings...

or none....

Just know how you want to use it before you do…. and what does it mean to you and the other person you are calling Daddy

my 2 cents

That makes it almost like calling some one little vixen

That makes it almost like calling some one little vixen

What???? And how was that relevant?

I do agree with littlevixen, when I began calling my Master, Daddy, it was for a different reason than most. It is the intent that is important, not the name. IMHO

Ok maybe what I was trying to say was not clear to anyone but me… lol

That happens…

I feel the

“ psychology behind the moniker 'daddy'. i find it to not be some incestuous thing, but rather a name given to someone who is taking care of you.”

It is not one or the other all the time but can be any of those things…

The power behind the title or name Daddy comes from the two that are exchanging it…

As a little girl your Daddy is the first man you trust… so it is natural to trust someone you call Daddy

And a little vixen is one whom Daddy loves the most

little vixen..... you hit it exactly right, so your $.02 investment is worth far more than that. the first timer it was uttered in my direction, I definitely thought "wtf" but since then I've been clear when I've heard it

For years I never got the appeal of the word, but after being with someone that calls you that, I don't know how I could go without being called it.

It's definitely a term of endearment and has no incestual link. I have two sons and it's not like when they call me daddy, it ever makes me think of her. It's a totally different world.

Littlevixen nailed it on the head, it's about the two exchanging it. Hearing it to me is just as powerful as when I'm told "I love you.". That's just my experience though.

As a father with daughters, I don't like it. I get it though. I tend to be a little paternal and nurturing, sharp when needs be.

I have a gorgeous 35 year-old friend with four kids and a a long history of dating losers. (so in a way it's a compliment we are just friends.) Any way the last unemployed, car-less 21 year-old loser was trying to be assertive in bed. He exclaimed, " who's your daddy?" She busted out laughing and shouted out her actual dad's name.
