Writing Goal for the Day?

I don't have a problem with either of my kids going to the community college. They didn't want to, so one is heading to Ball State, the other gets to make the decision next year and then in 3 years after that, the last one can decide. (I'm hoping he'll get a full ride with his music and number 2 should do very well with her offers because her SAT scores were very good) - either way though if they choose a community college cool - they still have to report back to me on how things are going, because my house, my rules. If you're not attending classes, then you better be working somewhere making money because I'm not forking over cash for them.

My son's not focused on what he wants to do yet, though his primary focus of his studies will be computer programming and Mathematics. He's seen his two female cousins attend college, one with a 4-year Environmental Sciences degree and works as a tour guide, the other with a Doctorate in Animal Behavior and is a supermarket bakery manager. He doesn't want to get a "useless" degree for the sake of attending and finishing school. He's just not sure yet.

Side note: Helps his mother and I out that we can take his tuition, books, and other items off on taxes next year, both Federal AND state :D

I think that is everyone's fear, more so now these days than they were used ago. Even getting a job is an iffy when they graduate.

I love tax breaks!!!

My kids have qualified for the A+ program, which pays for their first two years from a community college. The boy is doing that. The daughter? She's determined to get out of the house, get off on her own, and get to the big city. I respect her desires, but it's damn hard for me to justify her going $11K in debt and pushing her parents $13K in to debt for two years she could do for free.

Meanwhile, finding time to write is getting to be a joke!

I'm so daunted by the whole college thing, even though my kids are only 8 and 4 and I've done college myself so I have some idea of what's involved. I have got to set up their 529s (a college savings acct in PA). I want them to do as much as they can without loans (although I took out loans and survived, somehow).

And boy do I know the finding writing time joke. Good luck!

Got habu's novella (Luther) launched today and now am turning to getting the last spellcheck and quotes check done on the anthology Grab Bag 2 today to get sent back to the publisher for launching in two weeks. Then, I hope there will be time left to start the background research on a Dirk Hessian novella, Canstantinople.

Well, thanks to feeling guilty about posting in this forum about NOT writing, I was able to spit out just under 1000 words of a rewrite on my future exhibition/voyeur submission. I like the characters and like what I know they're going to do. That's good. Means I should be motivated to get back with them as soon as r/l allows. Now I'm off to justify my paycheck.

Am entering the sex scene of my reluctance story so hoping to finish it tonight, but its not a lock.

a lot of my scenes are on the longer side and this one will feature a fair amount of dialog and hesitancy so we'll see. My writing still feels sluggish and I think I'm still trying to recover from the burst I had when I finished the long project.

Woohoo! I finally finished a story. So damn excited to get one finished, that I submitted it without giving a closer edit. Oh well, I can fix that later. Now, you'll excuse me while I bask in the glory of finishing a damn story and get myself off. :D

If any of my kids qualified for free rides they'd be taking them - period. I wouldn't sign a damn thing if they had those offers on the table and refused them.

I have a niece that did that. She qualified (because of her mom's low income) to have all 4 years paid for at a State college/university, but because she wanted to get done in 2 years, she went to a non-accredited business school and now will carry a debt with her when she finally (if she finally) lands a job.

I have a harmless crush on a young man who goes to school with my daughter, so needless to say I just have to write out my harmless crush into a fantasy - lol

Today I am going to work on that new idea, as well as work on expanding a few scenes in my Nude Day story. Also there is a new incest story father/daughter hovering on the edge of my mind that would be a stroke story but there's nothin' wrong with a little stroke material to give the mind a break.

I feel wonderful today - very excited!!! :D

Got a cold but feeling some better than yesterday. It's a pre-school day for PennGirl so I'm hoping I can work on something while she's there. Either R&B10 or a summer story.

Thanks for reminding me to take my daytime cold pills.

Since I lost my flashdrive with all my writing on it, I've had to go into my 6 months old backup and see what is missing. The backup on my home computer is only 3 months old so a little less is lost. Right now I'm wandering from one project to another and getting nothing done.

I hate losing stories.

Working on the next chapter now that the latest is out. I think it's time to get back to more sex and less drama. Sex machines are so fun to write about. :D

That truly sucks Tx. Hope you get it sorted out. :)

I'll worry with it when I get home. Until then... Well, there always new story ideas.

As a lesson, everybody, back up your stuff, right now. Don't wait, do it now.

My external HD automatically saves every 5 minutes. I have all my finished stories on flash drives, so I never worry about losing anything.

I have the same set up at home but I spend a lot of the time on the road so the thumb drive was where everything ended up. I try to remember to backup to the laptop or to the main at home but I forget. Getting old and all that crap.

Damn, don't I know that feeling. It's getting so I don't know which day of the week it is anymore.

Sigh... no writing got done as I felt lousy. Maybe later... and I can work on saving backups as well.

No fiction writing for me, so far.

I never leave home without at least two flash drives. When in doubt, back it up..to paraphrase my soccer coaches and programming professors.

I'm 2300 hundred into my new "Mature" story - I think I'm really going to love this one and the tale that's being spun. :D But then I love all the stuff I write and KEEP - notice the word Keep - there are things I don't love and thus don't keep. lol

Hey Red? How much is 2300 hundred? 230,000? ;)

While managing my work on Monday (and sticking with it after work) I managed just under 10,000 words of a new exhibitionist piece that I hope works as a CFNM piece. Working on editing it now, but that's going to take a few days.

*chuckles* It's a lot!! :D

Today - If I get any writing done, I'll be surprised. But if I am able it'll be to work on the Mature story I started yesterday with the two thousand three hundred words already put together. ;)

Hmmm. A rainy, no-preschool day. Odds are not much writing will get done, but you never know. Plus with the Flyers out of the playoffs, I probably gained a few evenings back...
