While a majority of Jewish Americans continue to vote for and support liberal Democrats, in recent decades Jewish organizations have been careful to nurture support in both major parties and in political organizations across the political spectrum.
A significant movement of Jewish conservatives have become active at national and local levels. In other words, whether by design or simply by a general maturing of the Jewish community politically, that community not longer puts "all its eggs in one basket" politically. And what has been the result of that? Republicans and conservatives have now become even more supportive of Jewish causes and of that community than the Democrats in many cases. Hell, even many formerly anti-Jewish extreme right fring groups now either softpeddle anti-Jewish views or have become pro-Jewish. Whatever you think of it, its been a pretty amazing transition in a few short decades.
Black Americans on the other hand continue to overwhelmingly shun the GOP at the voting booth and with the rare exception the overwhelming majority of blacks who run for office or are active in politics support the Democrats and actively oppose the Republicans. This leads to two problems, one, when the Republicans win the black community's issues are pretty much screwed, and two, the Democrats take the support of the community for granted.
Instead of waiting for the GOP or the "rightwing" to reach out or to "prove its not racist" (its already not), why not reach out to them? Why not encourage more blacks to join the Republicans if nothing else as a strategic move? As with investing or anything else in life you don't want to put all your eggs in one basket.
Sorry if this post offends anyone for whatever reason.
