Throwing my two cents in here...

If your profile reads "N/A" and you've been a Lit member for more than a month and you don't have any posts don't be offended when you don't get a reply to your PM. PMs from a Litster w/ 0 posting history are pretty much the Lit version of cold call.

Also don't expect to come to the Playground, behave like a jackass and insult other litsters, leave for a couple months and then come back and expect everyone to have forgotten your past behaviour. It's not that easy Best suggestion if you do that...don't come back. Regardless of whether you edit your posts, all it takes is another Litster to quote you.

There are a few really wonderful threads on Lit that are just fun & flirty.
Not everyone understands the Lit is an Adult community & not everything here is sex.
sexy & flirty pop up all over the place as do night crawlers out for a quick slam
but if you look there are some wonderful people here on Lit & I am very proud to say
Most of my best friends I've found here & have know for years both here & off Lit as well.

Phew! Finally finished reading this thread! Wish I'd found this a month or so ago when I first joined.

Firstly, I applaud starrynight_64 for her repeated bumping of this place. It occurs to me that that has taken place over YEARS! Kudos.

Secondly, a question. What does ASL mean, please? I've seen it mentioned a few times, but I'm not familiar with it.

Thirdly, I've mostly agreed with the advice given in here (and occasionally bitten my lip when reading about something where I'd already transgressed), but find some of it difficult to enact all at once. To be open but wary, to be honest but not give away too much that's personal or potentially identifies me or could be used against me... I find this a challenge.
I'm basically a generally open and honest person. I find it difficult to understand people who are malicious or out to hurt others and I always try to see the best in people. According to other advice given in this thread, that might make me sound too good to be true. And apparently, if I appear too good to be true, I probably am. To be honest, I found myself taking offense at that. I know I shouldn't, I know it's not personal and that people are reacting that way because they've been burned in the past or had friends who've been burned, but I don't like being prejudged. On the other hand, I'm sure I'll get over it.

Finally, what is the deal with the GB? What is the purpose of it, if it just seems to be full of weirdos and nasties? I've made a couple of tiny, tentative forays in there because I'd been warned so thoroughly against the place that I still don't really know what's over there and the purpose of it all. Some of the forum titles look interesting and fun, but I'm scared! But I figure somebody has to be getting something out of it, right? Anyone got any light to shed on this for me?

Lit is what you make of it, some people allow it to get them upset and frustrated but you allow those that are on Lit to have the information you allow. With that being said there is no reason to not be honest but tread light with what you say. There are some people that like to take info and run with it!

And like its been said before best way to introduce yourself is to post on thread have fun and then PM someone with something not completely lame, and chances are NO profile info you may not get a response honestly!
