Ok look. The truth is that most of the people who come here don't exactly have their shit together. They don't have happy lives full of happy little moments. A lot of them are lonely and bored and lacking something.

The few who have some luck tend to lord it over the rest in self-important, smug little ways. This is probably because they fought to get that tiny bit of happiness in their lives and feel like Olympic fucking medalists.

Most of those who post here will hide who they really are and what they really feel like a CIA covert ops agent will hide their true identity. They will pretend to be superior even as they condescendingly comfort you for admitting to some vulnerability and then in the next thread have a psychotic breakdown.

This place is like a virtual pretend game for adults. Not much here is real, except that the thoughts and feelings and personalities behind it all ARE real. Never forget that these things go together. The fake hides the real here.

So basically my advice is, trust nobody until you have gotten to know them VERY well and for a long time. Don't spend too much time here. Take nothing seriously. Keep yourself to yourself as much as you are able. If you can't then be as entertaining about the exposure as possible. Guard your heart.

...get out while you can and never come back.
