If you're referring to me jabbing at the OP, it was actually his comment below that spawned the whole thing. I asked him if it was satire or if he was an asshat. He didn't answer the question. I made my own inference after reading through pages of his posts, many of which kbate referenced above. Is this guy satire? Is he a fuckwit? Only you can decide for yourself.

Along with the Thread about teaching women to read....I personally had a career of thirty years reading and commenting on NEWS on both radio and television, and what I see and hear now is sickening.

Now....I understand Soap Operas and Daytime television for women who stay at home all day, fine, let them sob their way through housework, I could care less. But when some blond bimbo with a thigh high skirt and cleavage that was once considered obscene attempts to deliver straight news, all I can do is giggle.

And those pathetic empathetic eye lifts and mouth moues and tone drops in voice to indicate sorrow at a sad News item, anger, outrage and self righteous indignation at those terrible oil companies or mean old stock brokers, breaks me up into laughter.

Cognitive Dissonance is the feeling of uncomfortable tension which comes from holding two conflicting thoughts in the mind at the same time.

Seeing as how Ami doesn't seem the slightest bit uncomfortable about holding two incompatible thoughts about women at the same time, I'll guess that his Randroid programming forbids cognitive dissonance. Or perhaps it's his underlying borderline personality, which is remarkably similar to Randroid programming. In his case, it's hard to tell the difference.

Ami, have fun snickering at those of us who find you to be a tad dissonant, which is why you started the thread. I haven't read the Ayn Rand Institute's playbook but I suspect this tactic to be on page one. What said playbook doesn't contain is the explanation of why the rest of us snicker at your snickering. That would introduce yet more cognitive dissonance.

Dear she is not agreeing or disagreeing about amicus...she is simply pointing to a fact and agreeing with that.

And yes the male pretty quota has been upped for broadcasters. The game from my view started in the 80's. It is not even near even. Women and men in this field are trying to make a living, I find no fault in that. If you want to get paid, you play. I do find fault in broadcasting media in general. It is so much less impartial than it use to be. Print and internet media the same. They run with stories that aren't verified, and retractions come in minutes instead of hours or days. All I know, even 20 years ago some of the stories that run would have resulted in a lawsuit and or firing.
