Or every person truthful or even nice. I lurkerd for almost a month before chosing where I would hang out.
Then I still ran into some not nice people who turned really nasty on me. If not for some close friends I would have left Lit completely.

I'm glad I stayed too. The best friends I have are on Lit.

not really. I live along the gulf in Florida & most of the people I am close to are all over the world.

It is. I've got to find a way to get a new PC before my next surgery.
I'll be stuck in bed & with the leg up for a while. I can only do so much with my blackberry.
Lit is harder to get on and post from there then Facebook is.

As a member of a number of forums (and admin or moderator of a couple) I am used to simply bookmarking the "new posts" link. While this works perfectly for a tech support forum, it is probably not the best way to get a real feel for things in here as each section has it's own personality. That has taken me a bit to figure out.

It is easy to lie to a screen in front of you, just try and remember there is an actual human on the other side of that screen that reads what you say.

Use your iggy button as often as you need to. I didn't do that for a long time and I would get frustrated by this place. There are WAY too many snarky sad indivuduals who's cause is to hurt or put down others to make themselves feel better. Try your best not to fall into that trap.

I have said enough negative, the good id the majority of the people on here are sweet, caring, sensative and fun people. They are here for the same reasons as you. I smile, joke, make friends and escape a bit of reality. So do the same. Don't be afriad to say hello to someone. There are plenty of willing people to help you navigate the ins and outs of this palce. We all want to keep this board upbeat so most are willing to help out.

Honestly this place has been a God send for me in that it has given me a place to reduce stress, battle some lonliness after moving to a new palce for the first time in 15 years, and given me a creative outlet for the random thoughts and observations that rattle inside my head from time to time.

Just jump in. Look around and welcome....
