I am prejudiced .....

I dumped him, for the record. The relationship had run it's course. But that has nothing to do with this thread, does it?

What happened? He would not commit? Does not matter. Your breakup might be related to this thread. You may become so depressed that you find yourself fattening up. Then people, like it or not, will look unfavorably upon you. That will make you sad, and you'll fatten some more. And even more people will look unfavorably upon you.

It's a never ending cycle.

I'm all for attacking people over poor life choices but this thread is nothing but ignorance.
I wonder if making it would be considered a poor life choice. Hmmm.

LOL Not quite, friend. Sometimes, what is good in the moment, isn't good for "forever".

And I don't use food as a vice. I use outside. You remember that? "outside"?

Outside? Sure. You imply that I am a homebody and don't go out? While I do suffer from agoraphobia, it's bad form to point that out.

But we'll see. You find it hard to lose those last 25-30 pounds? Ya ain't gonna lose them now that you got dumped... sorry, forgot I was in Junior High. You dumped him.

Don't you find it odd that you had to state who dumped whom? I certainly do.

you inquired, I clarified. That's got nothing to do with this thread's topic. Contrary to your belief, not everything is all about me.

And, just fyi, we are on different planets.

Sorry for your mental disorder, hope you can get that worked out. It must be rough.

Somebody sure sucks at being a Junior Lance up in here. :D

I realize it's not all about you. It's all about me in my world.

As for the disorder, it's rough. Thank God for meals on wheels. I get three squares a day.

Sex? Thank God for Twats on Cots. Get laid three times per week.

I am a big believer of personal responsibility so if you eat too much and don't excercise enough you will probably become overweight.

Most of the time if you are an overweight parent then your child is probably going to be the same way. They eat what you eat or they follow the example you set when it comes to eating habits.

I think some of our society has become dependent/ or are lazy and cook pre packaged food that is full of chemicals and it is crap. Then you get the people who don't have cooking skills so they follow the instructions on a packet and don't even read the nutritional value let alone fat and sugar content.

Eating healthy is more expensive unless you are growing your own fruit and vegies or have access to cheap fruit and vegies.

Jamie Oliver and Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall have shown us how cheap and easy growing your own food can be.

I belong to a parenting board where it is constantly mentioned that their children won't eat vegies. "I don't want to force them to eat vegies or I think I'm being mean buy insisting they eat their vegies" annoys me. It didn't harm me in any way that I had to eat my vegies. I'm not scarred for life or traumatised because I had to eat vegies I didn't like.

My children didn't have a choice. "Eat what you're given or go without." Or I camoflagued their vegies in spaghetti bolognese, shepherds pie etc.

I grew vegies in our garden and encouraged the children from a young age to sow their own vegies, watch them grow, harvest and cook them. They thought it was pretty cool cooking and eating something they grew and nurtured from a seed.

On the other hand I see most junk food and fizzy drinks are cheaper than healthy food. I see people on a low income buying cheap food (like 2 minute noodles, fizzy, potato chips etc) because it's cheap and it fulls them up.

Of course it's their choice what they eat. No one can change their eating habits except for them.

I understand most families have both parents working and their lives are so much busier juggling work, homework, after school activities and familiy time.

But Hugh and Jamie have shown cooking a quick, healthy family meal can be affordable and take up very little time using a crock pot or tried and proven methods they use.

If I was in charge of a government I would take GST off food 'essentials' like fruit, vegies, rice and meat. You can't cure obesity but hopefully most people would eat healthier if they could afford to.

I do believe some people have OCD. (Obsessive compulsive disorder) Or have food issues where they stuff themselves to try and fill a void they think they have with food.

Sometimes it's a health problem. As in their thyroid isn't working properly.

you make a lot of sense...in fact you sound to rational to be on the GB

It was hard to start running. My knees and feet cried out against the torture I put them thru for at least 3 weeks. My body did NOT wanna get up an extra half-hour early to make sure I got exercise in.

It's still hard some days. I'd rather have that extra 30 mins sleep. It's hard to lose that last 25-30 pounds. I love my beer and pasta. I'm happy where I am, though. I feel amazing since I started running a year ago.

It's worth the hard. Truly. I can get out of bed in the morning and not hurt. I can walk around downtown and not get out of breath.

Hard, but worth it.
you kick arse. seriously.
more will power than i've got f'sure.
Life is hard, nothing comes easy. Some people take on the challenge of weight loss, some just simply cannot look it in the face. Gaining weight has taught me many lessons, losing weight has taught me lessons too. I am simply the best person I can be and nothing more, fat or thin.
and to imply that you only succeeded because it's a bit easier for you than for the ones who fail is, in my opinion, insulting and unfair. you got there because you tried harder. you deserve to get full credit for that.

aww, I'm not doing anything that anyone else could not do. It's a matter of perspective, and knowing where you want to be.

but thank you

ok, what about the slim, tall, good-looking guy with appalling halitosis or BO? what about the cute young woman with wind problems or the extremely aggravating voice/laugh?

most people have something about them any one of us can find irritating if we allow it.

Oh god yes! Public transport...

I'd rather have a large person squish my arm than suffer someones BO, or listen to some drunk, dirty, skinny, junkie woman rave on about bleh.

Large people on planes. What's next? Of course! Noisy babies lol. I've had no problems with overweight people on planes. Why would I? They have their seat I have mine. Same goes with screaming kids. Yeah it's like "fark.." but I'm an adult. I can handle it.

I'm 5'9, About 130 lbs or 60kg. Which is average I guess. I would reach for the fresher/homemade type foods before junk. It tastes better to me. I've been blessed with good genes which makes a huge difference. However, this doesn't make me heathier than a larger person. Not at all.

I don't go to the gym. I love staying home and blobbing out on the couch whenever I can. I drink a lot of alcohol which isn't good for me. I smoke occasionally which is not healthy. And on top of all that there's a history of heart problems in my family.

Some slimmer people here need to stop kidding themselves.
Fat or skinny? I don't care as long as I'm healthy. Ask your doctor. It's not about what's on the outside.

....against obese people because they have no excuse - no glands, no genes, just greed and laziness. Say what you will, life-style has a lot to do with it, hours lounging in front of the TV with bowls of carbs and fast food crap.

Village on a Diet proved that years of bad habits can be broken and replaced by healthy ones.

If you disagree bite me, you know i'm right.

I am prejudiced against pretty much anyone that irritates me. I don't have any specific types that bring out my prejudice. I am an equal opportunity hater. I can hate anyone for any reason.

I don't hate fat people, I will say that I am not a big fan of fat people that refuse to have or at least try and maintain decent personal hygiene.

I'm not always rational. ;)
There are quite a few rational people on the GB.
You have wade through some of the crazies to find them but they are here. :D

Off topic a little but I really enjoyed Jamie Olivers Food Revolution program.

http://www.jamieoliver.com/tv/jamie-s-food-revolution

It was an eye opener to see what is served in some schools for lunch.

New Zealand schools don't have a school lunch program. Most children bring their own lunches and are encouraged to show what they have for lunch and discuss what is healthy.

Buying lunch is an option and most schools now follow Heart Foundation guidelines ("Heart Foundation’s Healthy Heart Award for Schools is a free programme partially funded by the Ministry of Health. It supports primary and secondary schools to develop an environment that promotes healthy nutrition and lifestyle to the whole school community.") or 5 plus a day. ("The 5+ A Day Charitable Trust was formed to clearly define our ‘Social Responsibilities’ activities. The objective is to encourage all Kiwis to eat and enjoy five or more servings of fresh fruit and vegetables every day for better health, taste and variety. The beneficiaries of the Trust are the children of New Zealand.")

Where, in this whole thread, did I say I hate obese folk? One or two very defensive people have put that word in my mouth. I do not hate them but neither do I sympathize.

I KNOW it's hard but so is living with 200 extra pounds, KRC is right, it's a life choice but when the knees give out or the hip needs replacing, when diabetes kicks in, when breathing gets hard there's always the insurence of medical care to see them through.

My whole point is, obesity is spiraling, we no longer spend from dawn to dusk labouring in the fields and eating huge meals to replace what we burnt off. Yet we still eat that way even though most of us spend most of the day sitting. The first step is the hardest, sure, when those 200 extra pounds protest as they're dragged out to walk a block.

Some of you have made it personal and also made it clear that's their choice. Sorry you take it that way but it changes nothing. Anyone who's struggled to stay healthy knows it's not a doddle but at least they made the effort FFS.

Your first post was basically a generalizing accusation with an "if you don't like my truth, tough titty" caveat tacked onto the end. Other posters chimed in with some not-so-very flattering snark attacks. The road for threads like these to devolve into yet another fat-bashing party is wide like a interstate highway. If some have taken it personal, I don't see how you can be surprised at the blowback. Were they supposed to have this incredible revelation on their physical health and self-worth as if you showed them a light they didn't see before?

If this were on the flip side and something that directly concerns or pertains to you and yours was being put on blast, wouldn't you take it personal and want to stand up for yourself and your pride as well?

Are you actively doing anything in the meat world to fight, combat or campaign against obesity? It's obvious you feel strongly about it, since this isn't your first thread on the subject. And making threads on an adult/erotica community board only goes so far for changing the world.

You didn't, I did. Specifically I said I hate obese that have poor hygiene. I also freely admit to hating pretty much anyone for being ignorant, or down right stupid.

Fat people will get pissy over this thread, former fat people will sit on one side of the fence or the other, and skinny people wont understand what the problem is. Seems to sum up this thread so far.

Are you?

The OP goes largely (ha!) unnoticed unless she makes threads about obese people or other Litsters. This thread is just a pathetic cry for attention especially considering she's made this thread before.

Lookatmy2", I go largely (ha!) unnoticed because I don't spend half my life hunkered over my keyboard on a porn site like SOME people.

This thread is to make people THINK about what they're doing. Obviously it struck a chord - or a nerve - and caused some great, and not-so-great posts. If you find my threads so reprehensible DON'T OPEN THEM, it's simple.

BTW, I know you worship at Shorn's size twos, you're even following his time wasting thread searches. Have you really nothing better to do?

There is so much stupid in this post I cannot address it all in one sitting.
