Valentine's Day 2011 Contest Support Thread

They are purposely jumbled up upon each opening like that to take away the advantage of perpetually being high in the list. Readers have a tendency to read down from the top of a list to where they don't want to read anymore and then to drift off.

Thanks.

Wow, I go away from this thread for a couple of days and come back to skyclad dancing and sexy Scottish accents. Woo hoo! :D

(I've got some jingly jewelry to share if anyone wants to make a little music while they dance, btw. ;) )

Sounds like belly dancing time! :) Beastie can beat a drum for us skyclad ladies. Since he's skyclad too, I can only guess what he'll use for a drum stick!

Ravenfox: What about the sexy kilt? *mrawr* :catroar:

SweetMerry, me me me please!

One day! For now the energizing climax of howling will have to suffice, once a month. ;) Too damn cold to go it skyclad, even in the steamy jacuzzi! *giggles* *goes back to hibernating*

the ASSOCIATION of INDEPENDENT READERS (A.I.R.) is independent and not associated with Lit, it’s sponsored by LITEROTICA’S #1 Author (scouries), it offers authors an opportunity to participate in a fair contest, thank you Jim Scouries.

Look at all the wonderful (and FAVORITE) authors who’ve won one of the A.I.R. Contests. A who’s who of the GREATS. Writers like sarahhh, manyfeathers, Slickman, alwayswanntedto, D.G.Hear, DanielQSteele, JustPlainBob, BarondeSade, MugsbyB, ohio, TryAnyythhing, serena, etc., etc.

Scouries is wonderful!!!!

I have gotten a chance to read Beastie's Compound 14/02 and it was great! Super steamy sex and there was a hint of romance. I loved the descriptions. Of course, I imagined it being read to me in a sexy Scottish accent that I've recently had occasion to hear, so there's a chance that increased my enjoyment of the story. LOL Give it a read if you haven't already!

Ravenfox, any chance of finding a way to get that sexy Scottish accent in some of your stories? *quirks eyebrow hopefully*

I suppose that's a question I should be putting to Beastie. *LOL*

God I hope so! He's so yummy!

God, you two know how to inflate a chap's ego! :)

And other parts too!! :D

JuanVato*grumbles and glares* How about you share some warmth and I'll share the jacuzzi? *impish grin* Thanks for the comment. I think you should run with that red she-wolf thought, see where it leads. ;) How's the story doing?

Beastie: *ponders the kilt and "inflation"*

Probably opening myself up to a good, hard trolling, lol, but..
(Hmmm.. kinda just got stuck on the previous sentence..)

4.62.. 324 votes, and 11,353 views.

I need to get some more reading done.. that will begin around 7am tomorrow. :)

@ the good witch.. I agree with Beastie. It's better than that!

I'm at 4.83, 3000 views and 90 votes. It's been up for a week now.

I don't know where people get all these votes from. I never get very high numbers. Maybe I ought to start being...nice to people? [fidgets]

...I don't know where people get all these votes from...

I pimped the link to my story on my Facebook page

Shameless, me! :D

P.S. am reading through all the stories, slowly. Not got to yours yet, but I will. I do remember reading your writing the alpha male piece, though, and LOVED that. Such wry humour.

Beastie: I do in small doses. I have minors on my FB page, so I won't put the link up. But I tell them to contact me if they want to read. Not many were too interested this time around. This time most of my votes/comments have come from total strangers (and fellow lit AHers)! Woohoo!

Wow, I was feeling all excited about my 62 votes until I read this. Ah, well. At least the people who did vote seemed to like it. 4.42 :)

Thank you.

Oh -- and thanks for the one-bombs last night, you petty bunch of fucks! (Whoever you are).

Unfortunately, announcing your score usually results in subsequent bombing runs -- especially if that score is high.

Those troll votes are usually obvious, so the sweeps wipe a lot of them out, but it's not foolproof. Best thing to do is keep your score to yourself until the contest is over.

It looks like a mini sweep went through yesterday. Not much change in my stories. Only a few days left. Will probably have a vacuum cleaner Friday. Best of luck all.

Unfortunately mean-spirited trolls are sometimes a feature of submitting a contest entry. They don't necessarily attack everyone but they can damage your ratings significantly.

The upside of entering into these contests is the increased attention that your story gets, for a longer time, and that sometimes transfers to stories you posted earlier.

Some of the attention can be unwanted.

That was a rather not-so-nice sweep. That's OK. I'm having fun and making new friends and gaining readers!

Hope nobody got sweeped to disqualification! That hurts and sucks and happened to me on my first contest out...by 1 vote. Sheesh.

Goodluck everyone!
