I might try to reboot it into my Earth Day story, though I won't be able to salvage anything I've already written due to the weather. The characters and the underlying plot will work, but I used the weather a lot.

What really sucks is that I'd finished the cover image, and I'll have to scrap that too.

No way I can edit out all that snow without more or less starting from scratch. Think I may just save it for next Valentine's or use it for winter holiday ( retitled, because I want to save "Heart" for V-Day. I have a copy with none of the title/overlay work, so that's an easy fix )

Besides, the Skyclad in the snow thing was really the inspiration for the character of Melinda and pretty much the whole story :p

Yeah, think I'm just going to go with somebody else in the wood universe for Earth Day. Had a lot of requests for Xannera in comments after the last one, so that's the direction I've been musing.

Thank you for the compliment. No, I've never placed in the top three. I did get 14th in the Survivor contest last year. LOL Still waiting on my gift card. I'm thinking of buying something naughty. :D

I'm going to read yours and Luna's on a break from work today.

Honestly, I don't give a flying fuck about the rabbit season duck season rabbit season duck season all the oldbies in the AH seem to have going on. I don't even know who Freddie is. I'm here because I wanted to enter the Valentine's day contest. So I did.

I tend to just back out of the thread and grab my pants and run until things cool down because I don't care enough to get embroiled in the chaos.

Skyclad is a wonderful word.
 
It's a bit like the playground at school, isn't it.

You can't be my friend if you're X's friend too.

And just like at school, I'll sit quietly in the corner and arrange stones into nice straight lines, and let it all wash over me...

Ask the poster Freddie was attacking here how she feels about it--and maybe project yourself in the position she was put in.

My story is hanging exactly where it's been since the beginning. :) lol.

I hope to get some more reading done this evening. (I gotta watch House first though! :p)

I have gotten a chance to read Beastie's Compound 14/02 and it was great! Super steamy sex and there was a hint of romance. I loved the descriptions. Of course, I imagined it being read to me in a sexy Scottish accent that I've recently had occasion to hear, so there's a chance that increased my enjoyment of the story. LOL Give it a read if you haven't already!
 
I've noticed there seem to be a lot of Sci Fi & Fantasy stories, and not as many romances. This just seems strange, because I would expect to see more of the latter. :confused:
 
Boxlicker, for once mine wasn't sci-fi/fantasy or paranormal...although it very easily could have gone in that direction and did start heading that way. I made up for it with my newest story though. *hehe*
 
Ravenfox, any chance of finding a way to get that sexy Scottish accent in some of your stories? *quirks eyebrow hopefully*

I suppose that's a question I should be putting to Beastie. *LOL*

Wow, I go away from this thread for a couple of days and come back to skyclad dancing and sexy Scottish accents. Woo hoo! :D

(I've got some jingly jewelry to share if anyone wants to make a little music while they dance, btw. ;) )
 
Hmmm... Think I've managed to build up a new layout for that cover image, replacing the snowy pines with ferns and background foliage. That's at least something. Just have to see if I can retool the story now :p

Dunno what Box is on about with the fantasy thing. It just seems to me like the stories are across a broader spectrum than usual, rather than 50% in the romance category as is common for this contest. I haven't come across any more fantasy/non human stories than I have any other category.
 
Oops, I forgot I had an actual reason for posting here tonight: a question.

I've noticed that each time I load the V-Day contest page, the stories are listed in a different order. Does that order have a significance?

They are purposely jumbled up upon each opening like that to take away the advantage of perpetually being high in the list. Readers have a tendency to read down from the top of a list to where they don't want to read anymore and then to drift off.
