It's getting to be that time of year again people. No, I'm not talking about Halloween or Turkey Day or even Christmas. This is something much better, and it can last a whole month! SuperViagra, you ask? NO! November is National Novel Writing Month. You write 50,000 words of fiction in the 30 days of November, and you can have your first copy of the book published for free ( courtesy of the awesome sponsor CreateSpace)

Now here's the best part - ahem - Challenge: Try and write erotica - fifty thousand luscious words of it. And then post it here on Lit! :)

I will be doing it, Will you? If so, post here!

I did NaNo year before last, and finished the word count but last year, I wasn't in a mood to do much of anything.

I should just buckle down and write the 'Goat Trail', it's been bubbling on the burner for over a year.:) Wonder if I can do it, in seven chapters?

Or the second saga of 'Cletus and the Amazons', I did the first saga for NaNo year before last.

Yeah, 'Cletus and the Amazons', Witches, Wizards and the God's of Olympus!
and Cletus finally get the ferrets in his pants! :D His own very "Familiars!"

You did NaNo then and I remember you took the challenge seriously.

I've got 3 NaNo wins under my belt, and 1 failed try.

I'm going 2 for 1. 50K Erotica, and 50K straight non-fiction. Last year 1 managed 80K words in one story. 100K may be a little ambitious, but I've done all my prep work for both efforts - backgrounds, character sketches, research, so I should be able to hit the ground running!

Good luck to all.

ooooo A NaNo Rebel. (that's what they call the non-fiction writers on the forums there) :D

Ambitious for sure. Good luck!

And I don't have even one good idea yet. *mumble mumble*

I did and last year I couldn't. But I'm all better now. Been having a lot of fun this summer since the Dr. told me everything was fine.

If the weather changes, like it always does on Halloween, I might be tempted to stay inside and write.

☠☠☠☠☠

Sorry. I can't write erotica. But I am doing NaNo!

Good Luck to everyone though! ♥♥♥

I did it last year and then some. Like last year, I have no idea what I will write. No characters, no plot, no nothing. It worked it last year so what the hell. I'm in. :)

That's what I keep thinking. I started with nothing and managed to find 50,000 words. Maybe this weekend I'll have luck finding some ideas. That's one of the things on the list anyway.

Maybe I should take up where I left off with that story since I haven't even looked at it since last year.

I figure at 60k words it's about half finished. The ending might be fun to know after all. ;)

Do it. I thought about that with one I have, but there's something else in the far corner of my head trying to get out. Finding the key to that door is the problem.

I understand that one. I have an idea about a corporate power play deal that has been bugging me. i left the corporate world a long time ago because I hated the politics. Now it's trickling back in. No, I don't think so.

Unless something better or more shiny comes along, I'll finish last years yarn.

I tried NaNoWriMo last year for the first time. I got a 30k word story, which I still haven't finished. :p
I was thinking of doing it this year with my erotica story or just trying to finish my other story. I dunno.
Its hard with school to do it with school and other such things.

It's hard even without school. :D My last class was like 45 years ago but then there is work. I work in the oil field which is a 12 hour 7 day a week job from the start of a job to the end. Nano fell in the middle of a 96 day job last year.

You just have to set aside a certain time to write everyday. Things get in the way, yes, but you have to write around them.

Good luck, this year.

My real life job situation has changed, to my immense sadness and frustration. For the first time in more than ten years I won't be directing a show during November.

So I'm in. Straight fiction.

Murder and mayhem. And great sex.

But the bad guys are going to die in a loud, grotesque military manner.

I know how much you love the play every year but it's good to have a break ever so often. :rose::kiss:

Welcome aboard the good ship  uh, yeah, whatever this is.

BTW, does this mean we might have some time later to work on a second chapter to our co-writing? The first one was so much fun. Which reminds me. one of us should check on it. I think I've forgotten the password.

I would LOVE to flirt and play around again!:kiss::kiss:

I mean, collaborate on another story. Ahem.

Oh, my. What is the name on that account? Crud. I've lost my laptop since then. Hmmm. SarahandTex? Is that right?

Uh, you're asking the brain dead guy?

I think that's right and the password was...... :D

Brain dead yes, stupid, no.

I don't know if any of you check the NaNo forums, but they have one called the Adoption Society.

Here's the link to the current list of adoptable threads. Need a quirk? What about a hallucination? Maybe an obituary or a flaw? And everyone needs a Macguffin, right?

Whether your story idea needs any help or not, pop over to see what others are adopting. :p
