Good question! If I remember my advanced biology and anatomy classes right, hermaphrodites can only reproduce as a male, which would mean that they do indeed have testicles (but where?), but no ovaries. Not sure about animals, but in plant species that have both male and female, hermaphrodites can only produce female and hermaphrodite seeds. This makes them prized to certain types of farmers.
