The guy that wrote this weasley admission is still a douche bag. He confesses that instead of doing actual investigative reporting they just sit around and watch FOX News and publish what ever they say whether it's pure BS or not, then when proved a complete hoax he says they are "considering" issuing a correction. If he had any self respect he would have resigned in shame by now.

Here is what I found: O'Keefe almost certainly did not go into the Acorn offices in the outlandish costume - fur coat, goggle-like sunglasses, walking stick and broad-brimmed hat - in which he appeared at the beginning and end of most of his videos. It is easy to see why The Times and other news organizations got a different impression. At one point, as the videos were being released, O'Keefe wore the get-up on Fox News, and a host said he was "dressed exactly in the same outfit he wore to these Acorn offices." He did not argue.

The Times was wrong on this point, and I have been wrong in defending the paper's phrasing. Editors say they are considering a correction.

The report by Harshbarger and Crafts was not covered by The Times. It should have been,

"The ACORN Association Board met on Sunday March 21 and approved a set of steps to responsibly manage the process of bringing its operations to a close over the coming months. These include:

* Closing ACORN’s remaining state affiliates and field offices by April 1st; and
* Developing a plan to resolve all outstanding debts, obligations and other issues.

ACORN’s members have a great deal to be proud of--from promoting to homeownership to helping rebuild New Orleans, from raising wages to winning safer streets, from training community leaders to promoting voter participation—ACORN members have worked hard to create stronger to communities, a more inclusive democracy, and a more just nation."

If ACORN closes or files bankruptcy, could they simply rename themselves?

McCarthyism is alive and well and here is the proof.

I hope it was worth it.

Yikes, it's tough to believe the NYT would copy anything from Fox...

Don't wait for the "correction".

Don't get too prematurely excited there, Badass boy.

Go check out what the affadivit says about O'Keefe in particular.

They're not going to put him in jail for being in an office and recording something with a cell phone, even if he talked to the other guys.

If convicted, FLANAGAN, BASEL, O’KEEFE, and DAI each face a maximum term of 10 years in prison, a fine of $250,000, and three (3) years of supervised release following any term of imprisonment.

I was wondering that, myself. It's gotta be tough to lose a good attack meme when you realize all you can do is regurgitate the same news links from your bookmarks that have become totally irrelevant.

Maybe it's back to the teleprompter! :D

Au contraire! 'tis a target-rich environment. Remember this guy, on a "leave of absence"?

"Rep. Charles B. Rangel has been dogged by ethics probes and tax controversies for more than a year. The House is investigating Rangel's alleged ethical violations. Among the items it is looking at:

# Rental Apartments: Rangel rented four apartments in Harlem at below-market rates while claiming his D.C. home as his primary residence for tax purposes.

# Resort Villa: Rangel failed to disclose rental income from his resort villa in the Dominican Republican on his federal or state tax returns. The House is also probing whether Rangel received a sweetheart deal to finance his ownership interest in the resort.

# Tax Loophole: Rangel helped preserve a loophole that benefited an oil drilling company — just as its CEO donated $1 million to an educational center in Rangel's name at CCNY.

Violating Gift Rules: Rangel and four other Democrats took trips to the Caribbean that were funded by the Carib News Foundation.

Rangel also filed amended disclosure forms last summer in which he admitted that he previously had failed to report hundreds of thousands of dollars in income and assets, including tens of thousands of dollars in rental income from a Harlem brownstone he sold in 2004."

Or there's this:

The travails of New York Governor David Paterson are getting worse, and the calls for his resignation are getting louder.

Already under investigation for possibly interfering in a domestic abuse case involving an aide, Governor Paterson now is accused by a state ethics commission of not intending to pay for tickets for the World Series for his son and his son’s friend and then lying about it.

New Yorkers all over the Empire State are now asking, “What’s next?”

Although Paterson continues to maintain he will remain in office, an increasing chorus of public officials is calling for his resignation, including Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand (D), who he appointed to replace then-Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton.

“This is the old camel’s back metaphor,” says Douglas Muzzio, a political commentator and professor at Baruch College. “The bales of hay have already been piled on and you have to wonder if this is the final straw.”

Mrs. Firespin: I thought I asked you to pick up wine on your way home.
Firespin: No, you asked me at work.
Mrs F: No, I mean, to pick some up while you were on your way home.
F: But there's not a liquor store along the route I usually travel.
Mrs. F: Right, I meant, since it was our anniversary, I was hoping you would pick us up a bottle of wine to go with the dinner I made, even if you had to go out of your way to get it.
F: You're moving the goalposts.
Mrs. F: Why can't you just say you forgot and you're sorry?
F: You may find this interesting. In 67% of all arguments, the woman is incorrect. Therefore, I didn't forget, and have no need to be sorry. In fact, I'd say you owe me an apology, for misunderstanding.
Mrs. F: (Shoots F, then self.)

Aww...poor baby. Did you screw up the setup for your little ACORN whine-a-thon, when you forgot about the prior convictions and pending prosecutions? That's OK. If it makes you feel better to blame me for it, I understand.

You'll get it right the next time. Well, maybe not the next time...but sometime. Almost guaranteed!
