The special place in hell reserved for Sarah Palin...

It's true that Sarah is a Christian from a small town, but so what ? Discriminating against her because of her faith or antecedents is just wrong. I'm just glad that she has more character than to impune Obama for HIS faith and antecedents.

As an Alaskan governor she had to work closely with oil companies because that's what effective Alaskan governors have to do.

Demonising the industry and then posturing against it may have won her more votes (and you can bet your ass that's what Obama would have done) but she ain't that kind of politician.

It's true that she has no foreign policy or economic policy ideology. Good ! Both the crash and Iraq were caused by politicians who followed ideologies instead of using common sense.

When it comes to foreign policy give me a common sense hockey mom like Sarah rather than some shiny eyed neo-con any day.

There's nothing wrong with being from a small town, nor a christian. I don't know where you got that from my post.

She believes the earth is 6000 years old, and noah's ark really happened. That's not a typical christian viewpoint, that's a fringe lunatic viewpoint.

She thinks that global warming has nothing to do with humankind (even the Bush admin is admitting that is indeed is caused by man). Her environmental stances are appalling, she is a proponent of banning books...
She claimed foreign policy experience because of her state's proximity to Russia and Canada... That's "common sense"?

And she IS "that kind of politician". What company does her husband work for again???

I honestly have never felt embarrassed to be a woman before. Sure, there have been women (Melanie Griffith on any talk show comes to mind) that make me cringe because they are such stereotypes. Sure, I have lived in cultures in which being a woman made you a second class citizen. But I've always thought hey, it was their problem, not mine.

Until today.

I, too, am ashamed that Albright would characterize someone mentioning what was written on a paper cup as a lie. I guess that's why she sucked at the U.N.

Clearly, some evil force caused Satan Palin to cruelly distort the truth.

She said the cup said, "There’s a Special Place In Hell Reserved For Women Who Don't Support Other Women"

When the cup actually said,
“The Way I See It #287
There is a special place in hell
For women who don’t help
Other women.”

See the diff? "support" versus "help" ???? Wow! I'm going to be sick!

What a nightmare of fabrication! Such horrid mendacious perfidy.
Much worse than, “I was born in Hawaii.”

She must be trailer trash, stupid, senile, and probably not really a woman at all. This is hard news !!!!

Were you replying to another post, but accidentally quoted that one? Because your response, while not only making no sense, had nothing to do with the one you quoted.

Pay more attention.

The_Trouvere was going on about how many newspapers those old politicians read.

My point (and I'll make it again, slowly) is that all of those old fashioned politicians were more concerned about what the media said than they were about reality.

This was because their careers were based on the support of the media, not on anything they had actually achieved.

I mean, look at GWB. He did nothing but fuck up from day one, but because he kept enough of the media onside he managed to win a second term.

By contrast, Sarah treats the opinionated chattering of the media elite with the contempt they deserve. She is more concerned with the opinions of ordinary, decent Americans.

That is why said media elite are so hostile to her. They feel snubbed.

So who does she get her news from? Maybe the park ranger gives her updates on the status of Russia? Maybe her butcher is telling her all about Canadian health care? The garbageman is letting her know all about the economy... Makes perfect sense.

Maybe you saw a different interview than I did... That could be the explanation for your lack of making sense to me.

I've read "most of them" with great appreciation
... Looks like your premise is wrong.

Oh brother! It doesn't take a lot for you then.

She misquoted. It happens to quite a few. So, she used support instead of help which Albright used. Very similar meaning to help.

From merriam-webster: Help -- 1: to give assistance or support to

But this only presumes that that was what Albright said in the first place.

Only Marshalt cares what paper cups say.

;)

She's a woman who hates women. A woman who is not interested in progress for women's rights. A woman who is the anti-feminist.

I will be pissed as fuck if the first woman in the White House is one who doesn't represent women's issues.

Why would the fact that Palin is a woman demand that she "represent" what you perceive to be "women's issues?"

I am always interested in candidates who represent women's issues.

I like Biden because of his sponsoring of the Violence Against Women Act.

And, because, the whole reason for having a woman in the White House being historic and something to be striven towards is because it would put someone in power who represent women. If it is a woman who thinks and acts and governs like men, then what is the point? It isn't revolutionary; it isn't a change toward more representation for women in politics.

Oh no ?

people don't like her because she's an inexperienced, small town elitist.

I'll admit that your contempt is reserved for non-typical Christians, but that hardly makes it any better. Whatever happened to freedom of religion ?

She believes the earth is 6000 years old, and noah's ark really happened. That's not a typical christian viewpoint, that's a fringe lunatic viewpoint.

As for the rest:

She thinks that global warming has nothing to do with humankind (even the Bush admin is admitting that is indeed is caused by man). Her environmental stances are appalling, she is a proponent of banning books...

On the global warming thing, she doesn't think that man has nothing to do with it. She just doesn't insult our intelligence by pretending that global climate change (whch has happened many times before) is all down to one cause or another.

Dealing with the Russians does provide limited foreign policy experiance. Not to mention which, she's also the commander of the Alaskan national guard, which is currently in Iraq. I'd imagine that writing to grieving parents would concentrate the mind on the whys and wherefores of military action.

As for attacking her family, well, I won't grace that with a reply.

I don't read any of them. Unlike you and John McCain, we CAN use the internet.

So can I. That's why I am here, genius. :D

I am fairly good at finding stuff on the internet in order to substantiate my points. I can tell the difference between a reputable source and one that is questionable, however.

No wonder you like Palin so much.. you can't answer a straight question either.

How is bringing up that Todd Palin works for BP "attacking her family"?

"Leeeaavee Bristol Alone!"

hahaha

Well that is quite true.

But the mere fact that she is a woman doesn't mean she has to think the same way you and I do, any more than Boxer and Feinstein, both female Senators from California represent my views.

You talk as though these guys' opinions are somehow less valid than the opinions of the media elite.

The way I see it, butchers and garbagemen have a better understanding of the issues facing real Americans than the professional scribblers of the Washington bubble.

What are the issues facing "real americans"?

Reading is for elitists.

I want to be governed by politicians who are more intelligent, and better educated than I am, but who care about people who make less money than they do. I am convinced that most Democrat politicians meet that description. I want to be governed by cultural elitists who are economic equalitarians. With the GOP we get economic elitists who are cultural philistines.

I don’t care if a politician drops by one of the working class taverns I patronize, buys all of us drinks, and talks about the local sports teams. I want to know if his economic policies will benefit those of us who cannot afford to drink at country club bars.
