What baffles me are the ones who get jealous because somebody they like is giving others attention. Almost as bad as the ones who will fall out with friends because they “saw him first” or “you knew I liked him”

This doesn't baffle me at all. Insecurity is a powerful and dangerous thing. And people being crushed by it will engage in any number of silly behaviors or mental gymnastics to make it someone else's fault so that they don't need to face themselves.

I just feel bad for people like that when I see them, now. I've spent so much of my life fighting my own insecurity, trying to become self-aware and emotionally honest enough to confront it. I know I still don't always succeed, but someday I will master it. Maybe.
