Manu should have done a read-aloud on the code before going live. I hear you can catch a lot of mistakes that way.

What a bunch of perverts we are. Every time I hear "I've got gadgets and gizmos a plenty" I think, that must be one hell of a toy collection.
For me its the line:
"Everything's better, down where it's wetter..."

Doing read alouds(we call them code reviews where I work) more often than not leads to serious NSFW language.Manu should have done a read-aloud on the code before going live. I hear you can catch a lot of mistakes that way.
Tell me another lie Pinocchio...Disney knew EXACTLY what it was doing.

I'd be fired if I did this at work.As a professional engineer, this is the kind of release I read about on TheRegister, wincing frequently.
sorry to harp on, but it's really shocking how badly this was 1. announced and 2. implemented.

I've also received a phantom editor's choice! How delightful. I took a screenshot for posterity. The story hasn't yet appeared on my works list, though it does seem to be on the category hub at least.Even notifications from this morning are showing up in the archived side of things for me, so it's not like they drew a line at sometime yesterday and everything older than that is archived. And it is reporting a new story as getting an Editor's choice, which I do not think is true. I see no indication of it on the story or the listing of the story on the author;s page.
Congratulations! and yes, now I'm also afraid that the one that I got was bogus as well. Fingers crossed that Literotica really does like our storiesI've also received a phantom editor's choice! Especially considering it was the crab singing that line...Disney knew EXACTLY what it was doing.
I totally get where you're coming from, and yes - it's a free site.I want a refund on my subscription.
oh, wait...

And from discussions with other people here, they are not getting notifications about my activity either.I’ve now got one notification on my new feed, but a number of notifications which are on neither new nor old.
I totally get where you're coming from, and yes - it's a free site.
But, ultimately, this site lives and dies by traffic, and traffic lives and dies by engagement, and engagement is driven by authors posting content. Without the stories, Literotica becomes just another landing site peppered with ads. It's the stories that are this site's USP and anchor tenant.
It seems unwise to make such far-reaching changes on, effectively, a whim. It's day two and we've already seen five hour delays on publishing which are almost certainly tied to whatever "updates" were done in the backend.
I spoke too soon. The postings that I saw in my Latest Activity thread that I saw 30 minutes ago have disappearedI have JUST started getting new activity on my stories show up in my Latest Activity thread (though apparently two people favorited my latest story who are not listed on the thread). Also, I've updated my profile to lead off with the following statement, which I thought felt appropriate lately: "friends, your Notification List might up and walk out on you, but I will never leave you."
And I haven’t been paid for my last 78 stories….I want a refund on my subscription.
oh, wait...
I wonder if they get cleared after being "viewed" ?I spoke too soon. The postings that I saw in my Latest Activity thread that I saw 30 minutes ago have disappeared![]()
Survey says... [ding ding ding]I wonder if they get cleared after being "viewed" ?
That's a bit shit.
My one unarchived activity alert has remained visible, at least whenever my control panel is able to communicate with the database. It reminds me of the classic Star Trek episode where Captain Kirk was trapped in 'interspace', so I'm assuming Literotica is under attack by the Tholian (WorldWide) Web.I wonder if they get cleared after being "viewed" ?
