"News Updates" and Second Thoughts

A very quick one for those who've been a bit more engaged recently than I have:

- Do bio updates from authors you follow still appear in your activity feed?
- Has there been any further info on if/when the "News Updates" section of the feed will be fleshed out?

My reason for asking is that I did a bio update saying I was about to release a work, but now I'm having serious second thoughts.

Bio updates appear in your followers’ feeds. They don’t say what changed, though.

I wouldn’t hold my breath waiting for any feature on this site. You gotta use what you’ve got.
