Day 10:A song you associate with your parents

I will never forget, and always treasure the memory of, my father's face when I sang out with gusto, "I done tol' you once, you son of a bitch, I'm the best there's ever been" at a gas station when I was about 8 years old. 😇 Such a look of shock mixed with pride.

Day 10: A song you associate with your parents

My mom has always hated a lot of the music I listen to, I was actually going to pick something else today but this auto played afterwards (not sure why, it wasn't a pop song) and Dua Lipa is one of the only pop girlies we agree on 🫱🏼‍🫲🏻
Dua Lipa - Houdini

Day 10: A song you associate with your parents

My dad and I have a regular game of “Name that tune” where my mom plays DJ and picks random songs from YouTube and we have to guess the name and artist. Embarrassingly, and much to my mother’s delight, we both bomb on this one quite regularly 🫣 when the song starts we both just start throwing out lyrics and have to get halfway through before I finally guess it while she’s over there saying “Every. Single. Time!” 🤣

Total Eclipse of the Heart - Bonnie Tyler

Oh, I'm a ringer for 80s ballads. I'd get this one in the first two words. This whole song and story is fantastic!

In 1989 this song was in the West Germany charts for 25 weeks. From March to September. My parents both were born in the part of Germany that was ruled by the dark side at that time. Both their lives changed completely on the 9th of November 1989. They didn't know each other then. This happened 6 weeks later on a train to Berlin to see the Hoff live on New year's Eve.

I love this so much. Good luck with the tactic 🤣

Romantic and inspiring....

Day 10- A song you associate with your parents

This song in particular was the song I learned to do the stroll to. Totally brings back memories of my parents before they split up, and crazy ants and uncles and siblings and cousins, dancing to crazy 50s stuff after dinner on Sunday nights.

Because this was going through my head earlier, I actually put it on as I did a strip tease and jumped in the pool this morning naked. Mrs wonderer didn’t know to shit, go blind, laugh or cry. 😂

Bill Doggett - Slow Walk

My mom’s 45 is on our jukebox.

Day 10: A song you associate with your parents

There are so many songs for my parents individually, but I have a special memory of them dancing together to this song.

You Know My Name - Chris Cornell

My dad loved James Bond movies. Saw so many w him. The night before he died, a James Bond marathon was on tv. Ironically, To Live and Let Die was on - he was barely conscious… but I will never forget sharing that moment with him. ❤️

Great story! Love that.

Day 10- A song you associate with your parents
High school sweethearts. Married for 74 years until my dad passed away. I hear this song and I'm grateful I was a witness and a part of their love for each other
Beautiful song and beautiful story! What a run!!
