Incoherent rambling.Suburban sprawl ripped our social fabric apart. Women lost the social groups and connections where they held informal power to decide which men would hold formal power. Without their informal power networks, they started seeking formal power. Corporations welcomed them in workplaces as more consumers who would not have time for home cooking, home tailoring, etc., so they must buy more corporate merchandise. And now the suburban sprawl is starting to reverse. We can't and won't go back to exactly what we had before suburban sprawl. Many women will keep formal power and jobs. Many men will stay home and be full time parents and housekeepers. But we will be forced to do more of what works and drop what fails in employment and domestic arrangements.
