List of story lists aka The Literotica Index

Oh dear. It's the use of "my" in the URL. How can I get a URL that works for everyone? I did take the URL when the list was open.
I think they must be private lists. When I go to your home page, I get an error page when I click. I have no idea if there's a button you need to tick. I can get to other lists posted by various people, but I don't use lists myself, so I don't know how to set them up.

There might be a bug afoot. Most of the lists I just checked came back with Error 404 User Does Not Exist. A few were just the user profile but a blank field.

They're public, and you can see that by the fact that they show up in a of my lists (see my post in Lit Tech Support.)

Today I added stories to Male Surrender with Self Acceptance and Simple Erotica.

"A strong man surrenders with dignity. It doesn't much matter to whom or what he surrenders."
"Erotica written without a focus on plot or character, but with a focus on compelling writing."

As long as I'm here, I'll mention my third list, Stories that Exhibit Authenticity.
"Authenticity has a particular meaning as it is used in this list. It seems as if the author write from the viscera. See this post: https://forum.literotica.com/threads/authenticity-revisited.1601329/"

These links work for me and I think should work for everyone:
https://www.literotica.com/authors/AG31/lists?listid=21541167 (Male surrender)
https://www.literotica.com/authors/AG31/lists?listid=19091949 (Simple erotica)
https://www.literotica.com/authors/AG31/lists?listid=21637860 (Authenticity)

There may still be a problem. If I try to reach AG31's lists from her public profile, the link appears to be the same as above, but I get a 404 member does not exist error.

I think lists might be broken at the minute. I get an error 404 when I try to click on mine from my profile.

Whenever you want to share any content you publish on Lit, always take the links from your public profile rather than your control panel.

In other words, as @AG31 go to https://www.literotica.com/authors/AG31 and then right-click on something you're after (like a story, a series, the list of all your stories, public lists) and click "Copy link address" or however the option is called in your browser.
Anyone else, simply replace the name in the profile address first.

The fact it is currently possible to do this for stories directly from your control panel is just an artifact of the gaps in functionality on the site. You'd expect published stories to have a dedicated page to make edits, replacing the awkward manual rigamarole of submitting edits as new stories, but it currently doesn't exist. This is why the story list in your author panel takes you to the text as the readers see it; this is not the case for series, for example, that have separate admin view for making changes.

It's done that way for a reason. If authors could self edit, they could put all sorts of non-compliant content into a published story. The way Lit does edits, you can't do that.

Authors can currently self-edit series, i.e., their short and long descriptions and cover images, and those edits still go through a moderation queue.

A similar interface could be available for stories as well, with edits that are made through it still going through the same process that the current STORY EDIT technique entails.

The point is, the site wants to control all content, which is why the review process exists.

Most of the need for edit is because of poor editing by authors in the first place. Submit the best copy you can and you don't need to edit.

Well!! I just tried to get a good URL from Authors/Search for AG31/ lists and got the 404 error. How did you get these URLs? Yes, they work for me when I click from here. But when I get what looks like the SAME URL by going through the Search for Author by Username/AG31/Lists route I get the error. But I don't get the error if I copy that URL to a new location. Hmmm.... So it looks like you can't get to an author's list from that direction/script, but the URL is good if copied elsewhere. So I will go edit my post accordingly.

That's true. If you click on a list in the public area for an author you get the 404 error. But if you copy the URL that produced the error anywhere else, it works fine. Thanks for your help.

I still see your links in the original post as being the broken ones (with my)
It looks like you didn't finish this?
Anyway, in spite of my edits I see that "my" is still in the link instead of "AG31." Anyway, for me it is when I open the list.... This is truly dizzy making.

OK. This is what I thought I did as edits to my OP. Let's see if they stay usable by someone else, like you.
Copied from public story side

I actually did finish it, but I didn't re-read it to realize how awkward it came out. Your url still had the word "my" in it, which is never a shareable url.

Is that true for the two URLs I included in this last post to you? They look like they have AG31 to me.

This is a bug in the author profile lists page. The links are correct, but some JS that's run when the user clicks it interferes and results in a 404.
@Manu you should probably have a look. Just go to https://www.literotica.com/authors/AG31/lists and click on any link to a list to reproduce.
